goalieboy82
i think it should be an official no-hit game. its not the pitchers fault if they were not allowed to pitch in the bottom of the 9th. the new rule should be this"if the home team wins the game and still not get any hits, the pitchers of the other team will be credited with a official no-hit game" so long and thanks for all the fish. Cujo
Woohoo! We got no-hit! Seriously, this just proves what I've known all year long: that even when they win, the Dodgers just suck bad.An all new low for the city of Los Angeles. However, I find it hard to believe the Dodgers got no-hit without the King of Swing (and Miss), Anrduw Jones, in the lineup. Way to go guys! Bottom line, I think you have to go 9 innings to have an official no-hitter.And as an aside, I believe in like 1997 Pedro Martinez threw a perfect game for 9 innings in Montreal, but his offense didn't score either, so he gave up a 3-run homer in the 10th and ended up getting the loss. Or something.

Or something.I disagree with that, because the game was officially over in the books. If Jered Weaver pitched 8 innings, and the Dodgers didn't have to bat in the ninth, he still would have been credited with a complete game loss. That's where not crediting the Angels with a no-hitter is flawed. The game was completed, the Dodgers didn't get a hit, therefore the Angels should be credited with a no-hitter. End of story.Martinez' situation is different, in that the game wasn't completed until after he gave up a hit. Easy enough. LinkedIn

It's a complete 7 inning game that counts in the final standings, the pitcher still gets a win or a loss with no mention of the length of the game, the hitters keep their stats, so there's really no reason a 7 inning complete game shouldn't be credited with a complete game. Of course, that's just my opinion. LinkedIn
Shumway
Just a reminder that fan voting for the All-Star Game ends tomorrow, although I wish it hadn't startedI'm pleased to say that my ballot was Red Stocking and Yankee free, with the exception of A-Rod, who's actually deserving of a vote. footballfiji
I have to say the Giants rotation (minus Zito, sadly) is pretty solid with Matt Cain, J. Sanchez, and Lincecum. Now if only they could get the offense to match it. Plainsman Parking Lot. Auburn Baseball Blog

whalersjets
I've never been more pissed off watching a baseball game before. I've been depressed, but I can't remember being this pissed. The Red Sox had a 4-1 lead, then Francona decides to put in Manny Delcarmen for some reason. He of course blows it, so then he puts in Craig Hansen, who couldn't throw a ball over the plate if they expanded it by 20 feet. Then he finally throws one over the plate, and it's an absolute meatball to Eva Longoria and now it's 7-4.

That was one of the top 10 ugliest innings I've ever seen, although you can't fault Terry for putting in Delcarmen in the first place.
FiddySicks
Oh God the Sox just absolutely blew this series. They had a comeback brewing here in the 9th, but Lowell just got caught stealing and was thrown out by miles. AWESOME game by Tampa, this team I will finally concede, is for real.
