Waleslax
I "think" this will fix the situation. And no, I don't want to hear from Devils or Bruins fans. Yes, I respect your teams and those rivalries with the Rangers but NONE are NEARLY as intense as Islanders vs. Rangers.I just checked and on my side, that seemed to work. oakland ehs
I kind of find it weird putting it in a baseball stadium in general.Football stadiums make sense because the seating bowl is generally the same shape as a hockey rink, just with a larger playing surface, but in a baseball stadium... not nearly the same shape. maz
Looks like the best seats will be the outfield bleachers. Other that that, not the best view.

Does anyone know whether or not that patch is there to stay? (It may also be that these are the jerseys they had left over from last year - I know Hawk Quarters is still working on selling the 'o6's.) Slickster
This might be a good time to bring in the on-field bleachers, like they did when Lambeau hosted a U of Wisconsin home game. Just block off everything in foul territory and set up bleachers in the infield.
gueman
Was there any reason given on why they didn't use Soldier Field? Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys. P. J. O'Rourke
Waleslax
Was there any reason given on why they didn't use Soldier Field?Supposedly that was one of the suggestions, but the NHL felt that this was much more unique and MUCH more "Old Time Hockey." Can you imagine the NHL passing up "more money, and"more tickets sold" in favor of "a better idea?" I am sure the difference will be made up in the ticket prices though.I can't wait to see how cold it is Jan 1! There will be pnumonia in the grandstands and sunburn in the bleachers!!! habsfan1
What I've been wondering was why the Red Wings did not go with this...Could anybody let me know what year these were used, besides the 1992 season??
BBTV
Was there any reason given on why they didn't use Soldier Field? The Bears could conceivably have a home game on 1/4 if they win the division and don't get a bye. oddball
Those "Detroit" jerseys were only used one year in 1927-28. Whereas the ones they'll use for the Classic were used from '37'-'38 to '55-56 when Chicago changed to the current look. The next year the Wings changed to their current white jersey look. So you're talking 18 years of those jerseys together, that's detail that the other sports need to recognize and not just match up a throwback vs. a modern or the wrong era throwback. If you want more info on NHL uniforms and even WHA uniforms go to www.nhluniforms.com and there's a link to his WHA uniforms somewhere on the site. oakland ehs
Chicago jersey is great except for the white throat area. Make it black or red and you're set.edit: I now realize they are photoshopped... comment stands
RyanMcD29
I'd love to see a clearer logo for the game. I'd also love to see both the teams go retro like the Sabres and Penguins did last season, though that's not even necessary considering how classic their jerseys are in the first place Twitter: @RyanMcD29
