Joe
Downgrade. X is so rarely used as an initial, that it really gave Xavier a strong identity by itself. Putting the sword through it just dilutes that image. The stand-alone X remains the primary logo, these are supporting, secondary marks.
kc51design
That is a massive upgrade. There is something that bothers me about this new set, but I can't quite figure it out. Still, much better than the old set.Maybe the fact that outlining is not consistent - that bothers me. On musketeer logo there is silver outline, while on X there is white and then silver outline, while at the wordmark there is white and silver shadow... lockerroom51
gordie_delini
newtext? i would've imagined a custom wordmark from bosack. either way it's a vast improvement in their identity system. you can never go wrong hiring joe.
conesbeans
New text? I would've imagined a custom wordmark from Bosack.Let's all keep in mind the difference between what Joe would have done, and what the client specified they wanted. That very likely explains why there are different treatments with regard to the outlines and shadows on the various elements unveiled. Gothamite
Yes, possibly. But that doesn't really excuse the problem. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
conesbeans
Yes, possibly. But that doesn't really excuse the problem.True -- very true. What I was getting at is that I do not think it is a stretch to say that the inconsistencies noted in this thread were likely a result of client dictates, because Joe has shown that -- when client interference is not otherwise an issue -- his identity systems show a clear understanding of the principles of developing a consistent program. illwauk
Downgrade. X is so rarely used as an initial, that it really gave Xavier a strong identity by itself. Putting the sword through it just dilutes that image.I thought of that myself. But it's so rare that monograms actually have something to do with the school's nickname. As long as they're not ditching the plain X completely, there's no harm IMO.

KCScout76
The new logos are great. This is a big step up - very clean and I love the X-sword logo. Very well done, a big upgrade for "Xavier"9.3/10 on the KCScout Scale. FiddySicks
As much as I hate Xavier, these are really well done. You shouldn't hate Xavier, tons of hot chicks go there. Better quality than the ones they have at UC anyways.I'm a former Bearcat, and I mostly partied with Xavier peeps. You know, I've heard that for years. It's to the point where I may just look a bit more seriously at admission standards. That and I can get my dad off my back by attending a Jesuit university BTW logos are nice, I liked that they finally cleaned things up a bit.
