Does anyone know if the logos and numbers on the road and throwback alternate jerseys are felt instead of tackle twill? I know the Red Sox use felt on their new road unis and from the pics it looks to me like the Twins are using felt. The description on MLB.com says tackle twill but it sure looks like felt. Can anyone confirm or refute this?

After being driven crazy by the scripts on the current BP jerseys being too low, it's ironic (to me, at least) that I find the script on the new road jersey to be too high!

I also wish they could have found a way to do this without splitting letters, but everybody seems to want to split letters on their new jerseys these days.

As someone who has personally seen all of the uniform changes for 2010, I have to say the Twins update is the best. Nothing else is very noteworthy. A few bright alternates and Milwaukee has a sharp new alternate road jersey, but other than that it's meh. Unfortunately for me, the worst changes are being done by the Marlins  Very subtle changes, but stupid ones IMO.

I could tell you more details, but I'd have to kill you :D

I cannot tell, but it looks like that road jersey has no nameplate...I hope that's the case at home.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Although this thread has been heavy on Twins and Mets news and speculation, here's a bit of (bad) Orioles news: it looks like they're going to party like it's 1998 and try to use the "official" script on the jerseys again. (Because Orioles looks so good. Ugh.)

Which was abandoned for this script mid season. It's the basis for the last on field Orioles script, although Majestic has really let the quality of the cut slide. Look at the transition from the 2nd o to the l in Orioles, as well as how low the descender of the l is compared to the rest of the script.

FLUSHING, N.Y., August 12, 2009 - The New York Mets today announced they will honor their National League heritage by wearing throwback uniforms inspired by the turn of the century New York Giants uniforms when they play the San Francisco Giants August 14-16 at Citi Field.

The cream-colored jerseys feature an oversized blue "NY" on the front, blue and orange piping on the sleeves and a Mr. Met patch on the right sleeve.

Mets Amazin' Memorabilia will auction off the jerseys to benefit the Mets Foundation on www.mets.com/gameused.

In addition, the Mets have begun installation of photographic imagery of famous players and historic moments in team history on the Field and Promenade Levels as well as the display of team championship banners on the left field wall.

The Mets were created after the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants left for California following the 1957 season. Major League Baseball granted New York a National League franchise in 1960, and the Mets played their first two seasons in 1962 and 1963 at the Polo Grounds - the former home of the Giants

They should just ditch the "updated" home uniform and go with the retro full time. It just plain looks better than the current home, and would fix the reversed word mark color issue they now have.

I think that makes the most sense too (though I might prefer names on the back at home), though I suppose people are emotionally attached to the 87/91 look. But then what do you do with the primary if that wordmark isn't on the homes? Sub it out? Use it anyway? Use the handshake logo as the primary? I don't know what to do.

i know this is a twins day, but i've been looking around at mets stuff and i found a blog tidbit that looks like when the mets shift the snow whites to primary, they will be ditching the blue piping. so i expect to see the snow white sans blue piping as the primary home, cream pinstripe as the alternate and the remainder of the black with the road unchanged.

Got a link?

Loving the Twins updates, except....the blue alternate, ugh. What a clunker, it's the cousin Oliver of baseball, get rid of it, it serves no purpose. Don't replace it, just send it back to 1995 where it belongs.

MLB Shop has a Twins sleeveless home shown with 2010 inaugural patch? Mistake or left out of yesterdays presentation?

When Majestic started making the Phillies jerseys instead of Russell, the white background behind the script (the "patch" if you will) became much bigger. So big, in fact, that the space between the first i and the l became solid white, and there was no gray material between the letters anymore. I'm not sure if that was intentional and at the Phillies request, or if that's just Majestic being lazy and wanting an easier cut for the background white patch.

I actually think this is a big upgrade. The Orioles "official" script is very nice...MUCH nicer than what's been on the jerseys the past few years.
