So, in other words....just another ordinary night of rioting in Philadelphia?

:D

That's starting to be a pretty common occurrence in Philadelphia these days. Not the rioting, but the huge celebrations after going to/winning the championship. New York ALWAYS has it, Boston has had it more lately than some have in their entire history, Pittsburgh hasn't been too shabby, and now Philly. Hell, even Chicago will have had a decent run in the past ten years. As a west coaster, specifically a Northern Californian, I'm honestly starting to get a bit jealous.

Those guys are notorious for being down the shore every weekend in the summer hitting on 21 year olds (and taking hits, if you know what I mean), and being out in old city every night. That's one of the first things Laviolette did when he came in - told them to quit staying out until 2 every night.

There were around as many people (or possibly more) at the Phillies parade (> 2M according to some estimates) than the entire population of Allegheny County, which is essentially the entire Pittsburgh metro area. I only saw three "large" gatherings last night (the one above in the North East, South Philly, and a little in Center City) but that's still a lot of people. Note that in that shot above, there may be two people with college degrees. Just sayin'.

Nice! They can put the potential Stanley Cup Presentation (Game 4) on Cable TV <_<

Hawks in five so they can finish it at home. Although, Game 7 would be held on the night of my rehearsal dinner.

During game 7, I'll be in the air flying back from Tampa.

Please end in 5 or 6

Chicago got its act together in the mid 90's, as the second three-peat and the White Sox winning in 2005 were very calm and peaceful. But there were HUGE problems with morons turning over cars and firing guns into the air right after each of the first three Bulls titles. In fact, during the last few games of the Finals in 1996 and 97 they aired PSAs featuing Jordan and other players asking fans to stay at home and not commit crimes after the Bulls won.

Oh, and Hawks in 5, but each game will be close.

As a pens fan, and as a secondary hawks fan, for the sake of all that is good and right with the world, please DO NOT let the Flyers win the cup.

When I was in the 6th grade my peewee team was the Flyers. We went undefeated until we lost the central Ohio championship by one goal to a team of ringers. Since that I've always kind of liked the Flyers and that injustice needs to be corrected in the universe. :P

For real though, I'm rooting for the Flyers. Never before has a team come so close to elimination so many times and returned to win the Stanley cup. They had to win a shootout just to make the playoffs and they were down 3 games to none and game 7 in Boston.

I will cheer for Philadelphia, but I predict Chicago in 5. I just hope this series goes at least 5 because a Stanley cup presentation on versus would be a disaster.

Pierre "There's a Party in My Mouth and Everyone's Invited" McGuire will likely spend a lot of time lamenting what could've been had the Red Wings and Penguins met again.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
