Lee.
Does a two-tone green palette not scare anyone else into thinking this could turn into a Milwaukee Bucks-like grotesquerie? Not afraid at all - those were gorgeous uniforms, the best the Bucks ever wore. Yeah, there goes the last of my respect for you

SCL
It's kind of the opposite of the way Vancouver went in that Portland is going from a simplified logo to a more detailed one. From this initial picture I can't really tell what is going on with the tree, is there a defined top? I do like the colors and the fact that the T axe will really standout on the jerseys. Sodboy13
Eh, it's a little too busy and in-your-face with both the axe and the wordmark. The tree imagery gets kinda lost for me. Don't get me wrong; this looks good. It's just that at this point, I like the old one better.
IceCap
Huge downgrade. There was nothing wrong with the old crest.

Viola73
When do the Impact unveil their MLS kits? Not til sometime next year. They still have another year in the NASL before they make the MLS jump.
Subi
Not a fan of that logo. I would have preferred to have seen an a simple update on the old one.
Krona
I like it alright. I think they nailed it with the ax, but the text and "chevrons" seem a bit forced. Im sure it'll grow on me and the old badge will look antique once my eyes adjust. id like to see some alternates as well. I'd hope the name would be dropped on the shirt logo. Or at least add PTFC. Im going to the unveiling in the morning. i wish i wouldnt have peeked.
max
How about a new logo: Same colors, same background tree, but with a monkey-wrench in place of an axe.

Lights Out
Now this is how you update an aging logo! Take notes, Vancouver.Very, very nice looking.
gosioux76
There's a lot of talk on the Timbers Army message board about some vociferous booing when this badge gets unveiled today. The Timbers, in partnership with Adidas, have scheduled a public unveiling in downtown Portland during halftime of the U.S.-England match, which they're showing at a downtown park. illwauk
It's a good badge on its own merits, but I have to agree that (unlike Vancouver) there was nothing wrong with the old one and it could've easily been imported to MLS. Maybe they can bring a "throwback" kit into their identity which uses the classic logo.
