Waiting for NFL-Network to break away from the GB-CLE game and show the Bears TD .... and hopefully Merriman's 2 sacks so I can get a look.... The helmet logos and striping really stand out against the matte white background. The helmet stripe also widens as it goes from front to back...I like it. I can haz sig? ARTnSocal Posted August 14, 2011 Share Posted August 14, 2011 I just saw 'em ... on HT highlights on NFL-NThe uni's look GREAT when zoomed in ... the helmet is bright with those metallic flakes ... love it!The sleeve stripes look better than I anticipated they would.From a distance tho, when the camera is zoomed out during game-action, BLUE pants are badly needed!! First off, they botched the sock stripes so badly, but we know that already. The logo on the hips really messes up the pant stripes. The silly flared helmet stripe looks much worse than in pictures. It is so wide that red becomes the focal point of the uniform. The sleeve stripes are really bad, too. Sadly, these are only an upgrade over the previous set in that anything would be an upgrade over that. They messed up pretty much every detail they could. Mongoose Posted August 14, 2011 Share Posted August 14, 2011 One thing about the new Bills uniform that has always bugged me is the fact that the jersey stripes do not match the helmet or pants stripes. The road uniform would benefit from blue pants, or at the very least blue socks. I have never liked the recent trend in the NFL of wearing white socks with white pants, as I think that the socks should always contrast the pants in a football uninform. As for the uniforms, I like how they looked on TV tonight, but the helmets looked a little flatter than I would have thought after hearing about the flaking that apprarently is in it. The stripes look like some sort of hybrid between the Colts and 49ers stripes, which I'm not sure I'm OK with.As for Pizza Junction, I'm luckily to live close enough that they deliver to my house. $25 for a large cheese and pepperoni is a bit excessive though... By the way, the graphic you posted is incorrect. Think of it this way. With the white jersey, the socks basically have a sleeve portion of the blue jersey sewn knitted in with white above that. With the blue jersey, the socks have the sleeve of a white jersey knitted in with blue above it. The left socks in your image are what they wore today, and the top part should be white. But the sock thing is just common sense. Blue socks should have stripes matching the blue jersey. The white socks, which should only be worn with blue pants, should be solid white with the same stripes as the whit jersey. As for the blue pants, although I agree that they would make the white jersey look lots better, they need to be kept in the closet to prevent the players inevitably voting to wear blue monochrome.Anyway, my biggest issue (and part of the reason I hate the helmet stripes so much) is that this shade of red seems to dominate royal blue. When you see a closeup during the game of still images, it looks fine. However, watching live action (even on an HDTV), the red almost glows for some reason. The red is so overpowering that you barely even see the royal blue. It's the same thing with the pants stripe. Maybe making the red lighter would help. They have no place with that uniform.The fact that everybody thinks this is a upgrade over the last uniform means nothing. A blind guy could have designed a better looking uniform then that crap they were wearing.The Bills could have done so well with this....but as usual they screwed it up. jcjr81 Posted August 14, 2011 Share Posted August 14, 2011 The socks didn't bother me, but now that's its been mentioned, the striping inconsistencies do irk me. I get that the pants striping matches the helmet, but with the jersey and socks also having a different pattern I guess it does look a bit off. Although it doesn't seem right when I visualize the set using the same white-blue-red-blue-white striping on the pants, helmet, jersey and socks so maybe I'm nit picking.
