Washington just finished off the White Sox in 14 innings, in a game which the Nats blew THREE saves.

Yeah, but what a game. I love my MLB Extra Innings. I tuned in when it was scoreless starting the top of the 8th. What followed was one of the more entertaining games I've watched this season.

Yeah it's games like that that make me wish I still had Extra Innings. A few summers ago I would stay up until like 1 AM almost every night watching west coast games. Then my mom told me and my dad that it was either Extra Innings, or NFL Sunday Ticket. We went with Sunday Ticket because at the time the Cowboys were only on national TV like 6 or 7 times. Now they're basically on every game. But yeah Extra Innings was great.

Well, I'd blast Jim Riggleman for quitting on the Nats, but what about this bizzare and wild scenario: He becomes manager of the Marlins? Other than getting a better paying job, there is no reason you walk out on an employee unless you have something that pays more and is a "better" situation. Grant you, I don't see the Marlins as a better situation than the Nats, but unless he has another job lined up, he just blackballed himself out of baseball and will be labeled as a quitter. I would never play for a manager or a coach that walked out on his team.

If you had a 5-year $50M contract you'd play for a team even if they named Jahagee (or whatever that jagoffs name is) as manager.

Actually, you wouldn't. Because if you had a 5 year, $50 million dollar contract, you'd walk into the GM's office and get Jahagee fired. That's what secure players do, get the intern er manager fired!

I'm in California on business and I took a ride out tonight to A's-Giants at the Coliseum, first time I was there.

Yeah, it's dumpy by today's standards. They definitely need a new stadium. That being said though, it was refreshing to finally go to a baseball game where the game was, you know, the main attraction. No fancy restaurants, didn't feel like a mall, you were there to watch the game and only watch the game. Good game (4-2 A's) and had a very enjoyable time.

I'm disappointed that half the stadium left in the 7th and 8th of a 4-2 game. I thought only Dodger fans did that, guess it's a California thing all-together. It was about 50/50 A's/Giants fans but it was too close a game to have door that. Poor job.

I agree with you on part, and disagree with you on another part. Yes, I agree that the Coliseum, while old, is still a great baseball venue. They have no real need for a new park unless they insist on all the gimmicks. Overall it's still a safe and relatively clean facility.

I'll disagree with you on one aspect though, only Dodgers fans regularly leave games early. Unless it's an absolute blowout, Giants games, and even most Angels games, are packed untill the last pitch. A lot of people decide to leave A's Giants games at the Coliseum early because of how many more people are at the games due to both markets being so close. Don't let the attendance numbers at the Coliseum be a representation of pro baseball in the state. Attendance numbers in Oakland have always been a bit weird and in many ways kind of dreadful. The bay area is Giants territory and unfortunately, Oakland is holding on to that market by the threads. That's why I feel that one way or another, with all of the feasibility issues and territorial problems the A's have run into, they'll end up in Sacramento one way or another.

Well I'm going BACK to California on Tuesday for vacation including a ballpark tour. (3 days back in New Jersey, it's a long story as to why I just didn't stay out there for a couple more days). I'll be hitting SD, LAA, LAD, OAK, and SF in order. I'll report back :).

Why would the Marlins hire him? This is the same team while under the ownership of Jeffrey Loria, fired Joe Girardi after one season in which he won Manager of the Year, replaced him with Fredi Gonzalez who had a slightly better winning percentage over 2.5 seasons and fired him, then moved on to Edwin Rodriguez and only gave him a one year contract. The Marlins and Nats are equal on the management/front office side.

I see what you did there. B)

Total accident. Now I feel kind of silly for not catching it. Oh well. B)

Anybody up for a hoedown!(If you watched Whose Line is it Anyway, you'd get it)

The Giants had lost 5 in a row,

which was kinda scary.

But fortunately, they've bounced back,

and swept the team liked by Drew Carey!

Seriously, the Giants have bounced back from subpar play and have won 5 in a row including sweeping Cleveland to take a 1.5 game lead in the division. This team is flat out resilient.

And this is not strike 3. Not at all.

Then, when the Rangers finally speak up about what a STAND UP JOB these umpires are doing, they let the Mets manager eject a player of his choosing(he was sportsmanlike and chose Elvis Andrus, who was unavailable to play anyways).

It's no wonder they needed :censored:ing police escorts to get out of the stadium.

Guess who is back at .500? You guessed it, the Mets!

I feel like for the past two months they've haven't been more than two games better or worse than .500. It seems like they'll win two or three in a row, then lose two or three in a row. It is pretty odd. And by the way sportsfan0518, I love that avatar.
