One big bit of news that seems to have been overlooked is that the ACC has managed to make it out of college football's opening weekend without any horribly embarrassing losses that bring shame to our conference.* Sure, most of those games were against cupcakes, but that's still a pretty big accomplishment for us. Onward and upward!

*No, Duke does not count.

Totally agree on all counts...and no, Duke don't count.

Life as an ACC fan sure is tough, ain't it?

Boise played a true road game against a ranked SEC opponent and won convincingly. If they run the table, what more do they have to prove?

They played a neutral-site game (don't make the Georgia Dome to be a home game for UGA....their record in the building is around .500) against a team that had no business being ranked to begin with.

I'll say it again....this was a 6-7 Georgia team whose last game was a lackluster 10-6 loss to Central Florida. Their QB has played in just 14 games, Georgia lost their top-two WR's and RB's from last season, the defense is mediocre-to-bad, and the offensive line is relatively inexperienced. And the coaching and playcalling has become stale, ineffective, and reluctant to change during the course of the game. This is not a good team that Boise State beat.

Even though, if I had to choose one, my favorite SEC team would be Florida, I'll be pulling for the Dawgs.

...only because Boise State needs Georgia to win out to enhance their resume.

Unfortunately, the SEC East is very winnable for Georgia, and an appearance in the SEC Championship Game probably lets Richt keep his job.

I'll call it a semi-home game for UGA, we'll split the difference. Too close to Athens to call it a true neutral and far enough to call it a true road game for Boise. Fact is, the better team won. Here's the diff though. Georgia is an SEC team, and as such, commands an air of respect. Even a .500 record, given how tough the SEC is, can only help Boise.

What hurt Boise this week is that TCU lost to Baylor. That's the only other ranked team Boise plays, and they need TCU to keep winning too.

Calling the Georgia Dome a "neutral site" game for Georgia is flat-out laughable.

Distance from Sanford Stadium to Georgia Dome: 72 miles

Distance from Bronco Stadium to Georgia Dome: 2,174 miles

Who cares what their record is in that building? The fact of the matter is that the venue was in the state of Georgia and the stadium was filled with 95% Georgia fans. There was nothing "neutral" about that environment.

I'm willing to bet Air Force can beat TCU at home, and if they do they may very well end up ranked when they play at Boise on October 22.

Yeah just look at the stands for that game. Almost all red with little specks of blue here and there.

But at the same time, I wouldn't fully call it a home game for Georgia. Similarly, I'd consider the LSU-Oregon game to be a semi-home for LSU.

How a team that went 6-7 a year ago commands anything other then the ire of Georgia fans is beyond me.

What I saw last night was a team in Boise State that was very comfortable in the Georgia Dome and worked it's plan to perfection. Outside of that huge run by Boykin, the Bulldogs didn't do much. Maybe it tells me that the talent at Boise State is better right now then the talent at Georgia. That will change down the road, but for now... Clear to see who the better team is.

Now, let's see if the Bulldogs can shake this off with South Carolina coming in. :)

Did anyone hear the shot Brent Musberger took at Cliff Harris before the game?

What did he say?

When speaking about how fast both teams were he said to Herbstreit, "Do you think anyone will get arrested for speeding tonight?"

Fast. Hard. Finish.

Or, at very least, get to the SEC title game. Either way, BSU needs the Dawgs to turn it around, so let's hope Richt gets them back on track and ready to execute.

For the Georgia players, coaches, and staff, this was not a home game. They spent a couple nights in a hotel room, practiced away from home, and all the other small differences that are distinctly different between playing at home and not playing at home.

Arguing about distance between the two schools and the Georgia Dome is nullified by the fact that those from Boise were here all week (trust me...I work downtown). No way Boise has 10,000 fans here if this game were held in October and Boise having played the week before. Not to mention that many of the lower-bowl seats were given to sponsors of the game (many of which just so happen to be based in Georgia and be staffed with Georgia fans).

This was a definite bowl game feel to the game. Aside from the louder cheers in the stands, there was nothing "home" about this game for the Georgia football team.

As I said, playing the game in a different venue that happens to be less than 90 minutes away from your home stadium doesn't make it a "neutral" game in anything than name only when the fans are 95% in support of the team who plays less than 90 minutes away. Practicing at the Georgia Dome doesn't change that fact either.

When you have 65,000 fans dressed in red cheering for your team, it's about as "home" as it gets. The same would apply to any team playing Texas in Cowboys Stadium, Michigan at Ford Field, or LSU at the Superdome.

But you said "true road game", which it clearly wasn't.

My advice, kid....don't become Lights_Out Jr.
