CS85
I don't know, I guess I would rather have it played in a big city.Well look at it this way: Indianapolis' success in the latest Superbowl is universal - you won't hear a negative report about the Indy experience across the board from players or pundits alike. BUT they may not return to Indianapolis for the Superbowl again. Why? Attendance. Less than 70,000 people were at the game, a record low over the last 20 years. They indeed set records for the festivities surrounding the game itself, but missing out on 30,000+ worth of insanely lucrative ticket revenue is a black eye on an otherwise spotless experience. The premier singular event of the hockey season with arguably the highest ticket prices of any game of the year necessitates maximum profit opportunity, thusly a venue with a hell of a lot of seats. With upwards of 110,000 seats available, the big house fits the bill.Surely they should have known the capacity beforehand?I forgot to follow up on this. I believe the NFL always signs off on teams that build new stadiums that they will get a superbowl within x years. I'm not 100% sure of this but I'm almost positive it is so, so long as they fall under the following criteria: The NFL requires that a Super Bowl hosting stadium must have an average temperature of 50 degrees or higher in February or be held in an indoor climate-controlled facility. Obviously that's being waived for Super Bowl XLVIII in New York, but still. Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. Sodboy13
Regarding the Hawks, there were two astoundingly telling moments last night in the first period. Early on, but after Frolik's instant-game-killer double minor, Toews was getting roughed up after the whistle by the Sharks, and Sean O'Donnell was the only teammate who could be bothered to rush to his defense. Later on in the period, Toews got thrown against the rear boards after the whistle, and no one else in a white sweater on the ice did anything. Either Toews, and by extension Quenneville, has lost the team, or there's a substantial divide between two factions of alleged teammates in the Blackhawks. Either way, that's how seasons die, and it gave an indication that behind-the-scenes is at least as ugly as what's being presented on ice these days. It'll be a de facto home game for the Hawks tonight in Glendale. They come out showing the same inability to give a , it's over. Keith's dogged having to play 30 minutes a game, everybody is hanging their head, it's easily the worst stretch I've seen from this core. If they don't pull the trigger on some deals, they're basically going to let the team dog it out for the rest of the year to justify firing Q and cleaning out his staff. And considering his endless line shuffling and benching of Stalberg last night (among other questionable moves) I wouldn't say he didn't earn it. BigEd76
The Flyers are wearing the Winter Classic jerseys against the Rangers today, trying to break a 6-game losing streak to them. 2-1 Rangers after 1...

BigEd76
2nd-most points in the conference and they have a losing record at home. Unacceptable. And 0 points out of 5 games is why they probably won't catch the Rangers. Their D sucks so bad without Pronger...
