Businesses that Use Sports Logos/Fonts in Everyday Life

I saw this on the side of a bus today:

FreeEnterprise.jpg

The Free Enterprise System is a charter bus company here in the Midwest. That font they're using, I believe, is the same as what the Miami Dolphins used up until the mid 1990s. Has anyone else seen a the use of a sports font in non-sports related businesses?

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | 🌐 Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports 🔗

The fonts aren't the same. Look at the p's and n's. Close, but definitly not the same.

I'm betting it's the exact same font, but slightly stylized so that they could avoid a lawsuit.

Not a business, but a product.

Count Chocula used to use the font Romulan Falcon, same font as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The font on the bus is called Candice

Candice font

It's pretty common, actually. It was designed in 1976 by Alan Meeks. The Dolphins script is a custom made font, most probably inspired by the Candice font.

Wow, that's a quintessential 70s font. I never would've guessed it was created so late in the decade.

Just for clarification's sake...the real version of the Buccaneers' font is actually Totally Gothic. Romulan Falcon is the freeware knockoff of such.

Count Chocula looks like a Romulan

Now that's really toeing the line on copyright infringement. How is that even allowed?
