How about one half of the season home colors... the other half home whites???

Just a thought.

That's kind of my take on it as well. I prefer white at home. I've never really gotten used to the Rangers wearing blue at home. That said, I realize that there are a lot of people who prefer that teams wear white on the road. When you've got 41 games to work with, it would be pretty easy to keep both sides happy.

Anyway, I think the Red Wings look better in white. Period.

I remember the NHL doing this in the 1991-92 season to commemorate the 75th anny of the league... I recall the Rangers wearing their classic/throwback home blues that season for one half of the season...

Just a thought.

Doesn't one of the minor leagues do that?

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (CHL - 2018 Orr Cup Champions) Chicago Rivermen (UBA/WBL - 2014, 2015, 2017 Intercontinental Cup Champions)

King's Own Hexham FC (BIP - 2022 Saint's Cup Champions) Portland Explorers (EFL - Elite Bowl XIX Champions) Real San Diego (UPL) Red Bull Seattle (ULL - 2018, 2019, 2020 Gait Cup Champions) Vancouver Huskies (CL)

The Jobing.com whiteouts in the playoffs against the Red Wings looked like all the fans were rooting for Detroit.

Oh wait?

the worst helmets design to me is the Jacksonville jaguars hamlets from 1995 to 2012 because you can't see the logo vary wall

My first NHL game was during the first season they switched to color at home, so I'm pretty used to it. White is a neutral color, I just feel that teams should show off their colors at home, rather than be neutral. That and the Sharks white jersey looks like trash compared to the teal one, so I'd much prefer color at home.

It sometimes depends on the color schemes, I guess.

My completely unscientific research tells me that teams that wear contrasted sweaters and breezers with their colored sets (Philly, SJ, Washington, among others) look better than teams that wear one color entirely (Detroit, Dallas, etc.). Furthermore, two color teams like Detroit and Toronto look much, MUCH better in white than color. You can even add the Lightning to that list, though I personally detest both jerseys on the basis of ripping off two Original Six teams.

I would prefer white since that creates a different looking game each time, but there's also the problem of alts in all of this. Actually, that's the problem that has us discussing this to begin with.

To me at least it just feels right, that the home team wears white. The person who wears white in a movie is almost always the protagonist.

Plus White-Outs look dumb when PHX, or Winnipeg wears their coloured jersey at home.

A-f'kin-men

The concept of a "whiteout" doesn't make as much sense when the road opponent is the one wearing white.

Although I liked Nashville's sense of creativity with the sea of gold idea last year.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure they wore white because they were doing an auction of all their jerseys to raise money for Lokomotiv. They mentioned it briefly on NBCSN, along with JMac's custom lid (which featured Brad McCrimmon, Stefan Liv, and Ruslan Salei, if I remember correctly).

The Pens had a home/home with Toronto and the Pens came out in white (so I figured Tor would wear alts next night), but they were in normal. Don't know why they did this as the Pens had to bring black to Tor, but were on an extensive road trip wearing white. Just keep the colors at home (due to alts). This is why I was glad they went to color at home and maybe the NBA needs to do this as well.

The Rangers have worn white at home twice since the lockout. Once on a Sunday last year against Philly, and Super Bowl Sunday this year in the "vintage" white from the Winter Classic.

I staunchly would support a return to home whites. I hate how every game looks "the same" with white against whatever color the home team has. I know, they have different pants, logos, etc, but it's still the same white vs. ________.

And yes, for football I still love color at home even though it totally contradicts what I just said. I guess it's different because a) that's how it was when I was growing up (save for the Dallases and Miamis of the world) and B) it's (for the most part) and outdoor sport so the sun on the uniforms looks nicer.

HUGE deal for me... I love home whites. It's just right. Home darks were just another failed concept of Bettman's "new" NHL. I can't wait until they go back for good, because they

Okay, I'll bite. How exactly is color at home a failed venture?

Add 1 more rangers-in-home-whites to the list.... this season, early December, versus the maple leafs... toronto wore their new alt-blues at the garden... one of the rare home losses for our boys this season!!!
