The_Admiral
Blackhawks sign Michal Rozsival for one year, one that probably won't be played anyway. In the event that we do, we have a nice surplus of defensemen now. That'll be it for Montador, if not now, then next year.Coyotes are deep enough at defense that they can shoulder the loss. Yandle/Ekman-Larsson is an elite pairing, and Zbynek Michalek is pretty good (how'd they swing that deal with their financial woes, anyway?). ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

BrySmalls
Gabriel Landeskog is the Avs' new captain, the youngest in NHL history.Landeskog = The Next FoppaI'm sorry, but it's difficult to make that comparison at this stage of Gabriel's career, especially since we don't know if Gabriel is injury-prone! Also, comparing statistics of a Winger to that of a Center is challenging to stay the least.
The_Admiral
Has Landeskog demonstrated preternatural leadership traits, or did they just decide he may as well be the captain because he has the highest upside? Even though Marty Lapointe wore the C that first season, Jonathan Toews owned his dressing room from day one, and even his early captaincy surprised some people. Is Landeskog already in the stratum of Trottier/Yzerman/Sakic/Toews Born Leaders, or is this a "why the hell not" move, like Vincent Lecavalier's premature captaincy? It feels like the latter to me. Yeesh, a comparison to the old Bolts. Denver really never recovered from the lockout, organizationally speaking, did they? ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Brendan
Scouts were raving about Landeskogs leadership skills before he was drafted. He's a natural leader so I figure Colorado just thought why wait to name him captain.
TFoA
Bogosian is out for the year, and Byfuglien is preparing for the lockout by sleeping in a cave for the winter:Well I guess since Buff signing a contract extension in Atlanta was a sign of the eventual move, Buff looking like he's made absolutely no effort to stay in shape is a sign that there's gonna be no hockey this season. Holy , that guy blew up.
