bosrs1
Don't know about the NLL, but there is definitely a possibility after this disaster of a lockout that the MLS gains ground and possibly passes the NHL as the #4 sport in the nation. The now nearly 20 year old soccer league is making some headway across the board before the NHL went and shot itself in the head. The MLS is not passing anyone for anything so long as the best players in the world continue to play in EuropeThe fact they're averaging almost 20,000 a game and are now the 7th most popular soccer league on the planet seems to show that having Euro players isn't all that relevant to the league's popularity. Nor will it keep the league from passing the NHL in terms of popularity and profitability. Particularly if the NHL continues to niche itself out by locking itself out. bosrs1
Let me know when the NHL recovers to pre lockout ratings and whether or not NBC penalizes them in some way for breach of contract for failing to play a season.
cmm
It's been reported that if the season is lost, NBC still pays the NHL for this year but will get a free year tacked on at the end of the deal.

That is little in terms of overall money.
cmm
In any case, there won't be a breach of contract lawsuit coming from NBC.

Lee.
Nothing, really. Just thinking the closest hockey team to Jacksonville, realizing that it's now in Winnipeg, and rubbing Hedley's face in it. Welcome to DrunjFlix
Island_Style
Well, I am Panthers fan (1 of 47) and Tampa is closer than Atlanta. I couldn't care less.

bosrs1
How are the Winnipeg Jets doing this season, anyway? Not as good as the Coyotes. They're actually losing less money not playing than they they do normally.
Viper
The Winter Classic in Ann Arbor could be toast as soon as tomorrow. (That's apparently the deadline for the NHL to cancel without incurring financial penalties stipulated in the WC deal with Michigan University.) Better than past contracts, strictly from a fiscal sense, though.
