A lot of Louisville's hype comes from their smacking of Florida in an exhibition game at the end of the year. Last year West Virginia was getting a ton of hype from kicking the crap out of Clemson in an exhibition game at the end of the season prior to that.

And that's a very good point. Even with all that talent coming back, all everyone saw was the masterful showing against Florida in the Sugar Bowl and thought to themselves 'Hey, this could be a darkhorse contender for the NCG... despite being in the American'

Rams is on to something here... Wouldn't shock me if Louisville goes the same way West Virginia did last year.

Here's another difference that Rams didn't point out, West Virginia moved to the Big XII and they struggled because of the lack of familiarity with their opponents. Louisville, while facing some new teams (UCF, Houston), is playing pretty much against the same opponents from last year in the Big East (Cincy and Rutgers). I wouldn't be shocked if Louisville lost a game or two, but to go like WVU is crazy.

Very true. That is what I was going to point out next. They are just talking #9. They aren't talking top 3. With that Big East or AAC or whatever they are now, they can finish #9.

Don't get me wrong, I think Louisville's got a good bunch. But I have a feeling they're gonna have a "WTF" loss or two. Just look back at last season when they almost completely blew their BCS bowl berth by losing to Syracuse and U-freakin-Conn back to back weeks before holding off Rutgers the final week.

West Virginia's problem wasn't unfamiliarity. West Virginia's problem was having a defense that couldn't stop a determined Pop Warner team.

Wow, only twice. Feels like it has been more than that. Must just feel that way due to playing Ohio St. twice and Penn St. once in the same period.

Honestly I think that is my biggest gripe about the old/current bowl setup is the conference tie-ins. I'd much rather see the chance of Florida playing a non Big 10 team once in awhile when they don't make the BCS game as the other SEC team. Meh ... Look forward to playing one of them again this year in the Capital One or Gator or Outback Bowl...

Yeah, the 2003 Outback Bowl and the 2008 Capital One Bowl.

Which reminds me once again about how damn stupid it is that Bowl games are dated for the year in which the game is played, and not the season. I've never understood why that's the system they want to go with. Neither of those Bowl games were played in the season of that year.

It appears FAU has new uniforms...well at least new helmets. There are two navy helmets. One has the owl on both sides, one has the owl on one side with the player number on the other. Also the primary logo is no longer the owl's face, but the owl in flight:

Looks the same, but with a CUSA patch and new helmets. Last year they just made the facemask white:

UPDATE: There's a red and a grey option as well....(grey is not pictured). Also, red, grey, navy, and white shirts as well as pants are all options.

I loved their white helmet with the blue and red stripes. I'm gonna miss that. The new decal looks strange on a helmet to me. Wasn't a big fan of the old decal but this is a total downgrade to what was one of my favorite CFB looks.

I think you mean to look at the "Sports Logos" section as all the uniforms are updated there. For the most part, this is for the game itself.
