ninersdd
Bizarre decision going for it on 4th and 2 for the Skins. The Niners have to get their offense going, especially the running game. The league is probably regretting leaving Giants/Redskins on SNF, instead switching to Arizona/Philly like previously rumored.Given that all decisions (Week 17 aside) must be made with 12 days advance notice, there's no doubt NBC was banking on the Giants winning yesterday, which would've left them squarely in the divisional race. But, yeah, with the way things have worked out, this is an indication of Flex failing. 4-7 vs. 3-8 is not how that system is supposed to work. Looking ahead, I'll be very curious with both how the late games and SNF games in Weeks 15 and 16 sort themselves out. (DH game/SNF) In Week 15, there's Green Bay at Dallas and Pittsburgh at Cincinnati, and in Week 16 there's Pittsburgh at Green Bay and New England at Baltimore. Powerful markets with playoff implications, even though none of the listed teams (Cincinnati aside, maybe) are particularly strong this year. Wouldn't be shocked if there was no Flexing in those weeks.

Lights Out
Mike Tomlin should at least be fined for this bush-league move: POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/
Kramerica Industries
By the way:First thing's first - hope Bell is ok, because he sure as hell got his bell rung on that one. Two:Not a touchdown because of some poorly designed rule that, while correctly applied, was certainly not in the spirit of the rule and completely defies the laws of physics in a situation like this.Head blown off and touchdown taken away. Sucks to be Leveon Bell.

I heard from the announcers that they could rule that a TD if he was clearly obstructed by a bench person and had a clear path. Cosmic
Mike Tomlin should at least be fined for this bush-league move:I'm surprised that wasn't at the least a penalty on him. I heard from the announcers that they could rule that a TD if he was clearly obstructed by a bench person and had a clear path. I wish they would have called a penalty on him just because. I think the guy probably would have been caught, but there's no excuse for Tomlin to do that. His right foot was on the field! That's why there's a five foot wide white stripe, right? "Hey you, stay away!"? If it were just for keeping players in bounds, it could probably be the same width as the other lines on the field without any ill effect.First thing's first - hope Bell is ok, because he sure as hell got his bell rung on that one. Two:Not a touchdown because of some poorly designed rule that, while correctly applied, was certainly not in the spirit of the rule and completely defies the laws of physics in a situation like this.Head blown off and touchdown taken away. Sucks to be Leveon Bell.I'm OK with the call as long as it's the play stopping the instant the helmet comes off, like the announcers made it sound like; when I first saw the play, I thought it was going to be a Calvin Johnson... which I would have been really pissed about. The part that I don't like is that Smith torpedoed himself into Bell's head leading with his head, yet there were no penalties called as far as I can tell? Bell did not change position much before he was hit; I think it's pretty clear that's what the defender meant to do.
Lee Noire
That very play is why I tune out players that complain about where they can and can't hit a guy. I have seen many great hits that were wrap up tackles. This torpedoing thing is getting old. It's even worse when both guys get knocked out on the play. While I'm on the subject can we do away with launching at a guy that's sliding? Tag him down and move on to the next play without brain trauma.
