@ Bucsfan, I respect your point of view. But every team, every season, wins some they should have lost and loses some they should have won. I would counter your Bucs & Niners games with the Pats and Panthers, two games the Saints could easily have won except for a turn here or there like the non-call for holding on Brady's game-winning pass. For the most part it all comes out in the wash and that's why I seldom complain about officiating unless the game literally turns on it. For example, had Philly beaten the Saints I wouldn't have bitched about DeSean Jackson stepping out of bounds on his 40-yard catch that led to a TD. Sure looked like he did but they didn't see it. The Saints had some calls go their way too.

For what it's worth I think the call on Clayborn in the Bucs game was a far worse call than the one on Brooks. Clayborn's looked like a clean, hard hit to me. He shouldn't have been penalized much less fined. The Brooks call may be frustrating for those who think QBs get too much protection - and that includes me - but hating the rule doesn't make the play legal. I thought it was borderline but the consensus in the mainstream sports media was that it was a penalty.

Meant to ask whether any of the Philly fans here are old enough to know why it creeped me out a little when the Saints took a 20-7 lead in the 3rd quarter.

That might as well have been the Super Bowl, considering Buddy Ryan had lost the playoff opener the previous 3 years and I had this impression that it was a huge deal if a team won a playoff game. It just sucks that Rich Kotite gets credit for it.

Remember Deion Branch? The Colts just signed him. I wonder why?

1) Get whatever insight on a Bill Belichik game plan they can. Not that it would be all that much.

2) As it was, they needed WR help, but now more than ever. Darius Heyward-Bey won't play on Saturday, and they also called up a wide receiver from the practice squad today.

Also Greg Toller was put on IR and won't play for the rest of the playoffs (Thank God), as was DE Fili Moala.

Yeah I know about the connection with Branch and Patriots. I should've made it more transparent that the last part was sarcasm from me.

The Patriots released Tiquan Underwood during the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVI, and was subsequently signed by the Giants.

Of course, Mr. High Top is a Rutgers alum so that obviously qualified him for Schiano Man status for the following season, but that's irrelevant to my point; I just felt like saying that.

Speaking of him, I don't think he'll be back next season.

Apparently the Saints had the Seahawks logo painted on their practice field in preparation for the upcoming divisional round game. They better pump in some crowd noise during practice while they're at it.

Man, Hedley-BlueSky is the best rivalry on the CCSLC. Infrared-Kramerica and Tank-dfwabel pale in comparison.

Well, this was unexpected and made me smile. Fittingly, my view of Hedley matches how a Saints player described the Falcons when asked about that rivalry: he's like a little brother.

My take on that is, annoying most of the time, lands a few good shots now and again, actually manages to make you think once in a while and though essentially a pain in the a**, still belongs to the same "family." :-D

So there's a conspiracy theory going around the internet that the NFL has already handpicked its Super Bowl champions...

...the Chargers.

I knew it!!!

I wonder why the Ravens were picked last year . . . not that I'm complaining about that.
