If I'm in charge of producing a broadcast that is mostly going to be seen by Canadians I'm going to make sure it appeals to their sentiments. Regardless of what Americans might think. They're not the audience I would be concerned about.A national broadcast that CBC also knows was being simulcasted on national American television. Regardless of direct viewership or any other circumstances, it doesn't give them free reign to say anything they want.If Healy wanted to toss in some trash talk, do so about what's happening on the ice. Taunt the fan by saying "Enjoy giving the Montreal player the business now, because this may be your last time seeing Lightning hockey until October!". Keep the financials and the politics of the sport of hockey out of the in-game broadcast.Yeah, if the guy's an idiot, make fun of him. Saying, "Oh, he paid $11 for those seats; he's gonna do what he wants." is a shot at the city and other Southern markets. So much.Hard to be optimistic when the offense turns into a quivering pile of cerebral palsy for almost 2 hours of game clock and surrenders leads in the closing minutes/seconds of games to a team I ing hate in a city I ing loathe with all my being. That being said the Blackhawks deserve to lose this one on the stupidity of their penalties alone. Seabrook gets full credit for blasting the entire team in the foot with a goddamn shotgun for this game and however many games he's suspended. I just think his role in it is being overblown when you consider that he's just responding to undeniably classless behaviour on the part of the fan. As for the trash talk stuff? I stand by it. So...yeah.And for the record, I think I'm more into the Rangers winning then the Habs winning. Though the Habs winning wouldn't be terrible either because it's fun when classically good teams are good again.Agree 100%. I remember the 2011 finals when I was called "unpatriotic" and was told that "I should be charged with treason" by people at school for cheering for the Bruins instead of the Canucks, and it happened once again when the Bruins played the Leafs last year. Maybe I wouldn't feel that way if my team hadn't won a Cup in 45 years themselves, but...Although, the Blues do have that damn Reebox. It's 10x worse than the swoosh on the Seahawks' shoulders.
