So, quick aside that I think is interesting:

Georgia will go to the playoff because it won its conference, and nobody will find fault with that. Yet Georgia and Alabama effectively had the same regular season — each went 11-1, with a loss at Auburn. Because Georgia is located east of some arbitrary line, they got a second chance, and took advantage of it. Because Alabama is located west of some arbitrary line, their season might be over, despite doing little different than Georgia did.

I think that’s kind of weird. (Death to divisions!)

Oh Dabo.

You shouldn't have started a hobbling QB only to see him get concussed.

I wouldn't say Clemson was overrated...they've played the 3rd toughest schedule, to date.

Oh how I've missed you, #Clemsoning!

But with over 100 teams playing 12 games, schedule integrity is not possible.  Randomness happens in scheduling and Georgia was able to add a quality win.  There can’t be an assumption that Bama would have won that game.

It shouldn't be this, but I'd be just fine with it.

In that game, Kelly Bryant should not have played if he was as injured from the week prior as they claimed. Plus, their starting kicker tore his ACL before and the backup missed two of three.  Have a 100% qb for Four Quarters, you win that game

Well, it was more or less a comment on how we don't really know what games and moments really matter in the long term, not at your comment specifically.

Either way, I'm already heated over what the committee is going to do. I feel like Bama is the better team, but maybe the committee redeems their mistake of letting Ohio State in last year by... putting Ohio State in this year? I hope they punt on it like they in 2014 and put USC in.

During the week, many analytics folks were convinced based on the committee's history that tOSU with a B1G championship was getting in over Alabama. They think that the priority in order is:

1- Wins against "Quality Teams" ..aka 7-5 or better.

2- Wins against Top 25 teams.

3- Conference championship

I’d jump all over saying Ohio State would be a complete waste of a spot if I hadn’t said the same in 2014 only to look like a fool.

Alabama is the better team. They may well be shut out because the SEC is represented already. If the committee could set up Alabama vs. Georgia in round 1 to avoid the possibility of an all-SEC NCG, I bet they would, but those seedings aren’t justifiable at this point. I get the argument about resumes, but the only part of their schedules that Bama and tOSU could control were OOC. Bama tore apart an FSU team that didn’t lose Francois until the end. Ohio St got their ass handed to them at home.

Could just piss everyone off and invite USC.

Oh ... how bout them Dawgs??? Aside from the obvious SEC championship, they avoided losing to a rival twice in a year and don’t yet have to watch Richt make the playoff.

I’m saying

Clemson v Oklahoma

georgia v Ohio state

osu gets in over bama because even though bama might be considered “better” osu’s schedule just outweighs bama’s.

Osu beat penn state, msu, and Wisconsin and got the B1G title, Bama beat LSU and miss state and didn’t play in the SEC title

Excellent!

I"m a graduate of the Ohio State University and a huge fan.  Always great to beat U of M.

However, IMO regardless of the outcome of the B10 championship game, they aren't one of the 4 best teams in the country, and I hope they don't get in... it's not their year, and I don't think the playoffs would go their way.

Let's win the B10, go to a really good bowl game, win that, and I'll be satisfied this year.

This was my comment 5 pages ago, and I'm sticking with it. We totally crapped the bed in Iowa, and lost any right to complain. (The fact that Alabama doesn't deserve the 4th spot either doesn't really matter to me... somebody had to get it.  Hopefully, Clemson will undress them, and we can all laugh.)

I don't believe an OSU/Clemson match-up this year would go a whole lot better than last year. But this way, tOSU fans get to act all butthurt, spend all offseason talking about what we would've done if given a chance, and generally act disrespected (which all fans seem to secretly love). And, best of all, before their bowl game gets here, Urban gets to use this to pump up his guys, who, when playing with sufficient anger and motivation, can inflict some serious damage... just ask Michigan State.

Sadly, if they had lost by the same amount to Iowa that they lost to Oklahoma I think Ohio State would have been in. And if two long passes to the end zone get caught and it's 41-21 they would have been in. Ohio State failed to take care of business when they needed to and it bit them here. The committee has to believe Alabama's LB corps will be fully fit or they wouldn't have brought them into the playoff. If they aren't it will be a long day for them. Actually, it's better for Alabama that they're playing Clemson and not Oklahoma because I think Mayfield and that offense can do more than Clemson's shown they can do this year. I just want to see competitive games throughout the playoffs this year. And I like the idea of seeing how well Ohio State can line up against Southern Cal's offense. That should be a pretty good game as well.

I can't be the only one who thinks the Selection Committee gets a collective raging boner every time they hear "Alab-".

Seriously though, Alabama doesn't deserve this. Neither does Ohio State.

I would have loved to see them have USC jump both Ohio State and Alabama just to see how many heads exploded when they said, "They only had one bad loss and they're conference champs"! Hahahahaha!!!!
