north dakota
Pretty solid logo. It's clean and is similar to the parent club's logo. I like it. Woah! You think I'm Cody? My name is Carl Scott Simone and we just happen to share a birthday. BIG DEAL.
FiddySicks
I like it a lot. Follows the Warriors scheme but adds the trident to tie in with Santa Cruz's proximity to the ocean. Where are they going to play? On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
missouri tigers
Not bad. Not all that good, but not bad. There's a lot of negative space left within the circle and the script outside of the the circle for only 2/3 of the perimeter is bugging me a bit.... but hey, It's better than the old Wizards logo I suppose. McCall
Dakota is being bought out and moved? Laaaame. You referring to the Wizards or the states? Because honestly, I think people would be more worked up over losing the Wizards. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall

Lee Noire
I like it i just cant help but see the tridents from the yakball thread in the concepts area. That aside, very nice logo and a definite upgrade from the wizards.
october23sp
I'm from Bismarck (former home of the Wizards). Team was around for 15 + years, tough to see them go.

The Golden One
Wait, when did this buyout happen?Warriors bought the wizards before last season and let it be known right away they were interested in bringing them closer to the warriors. Last season they changed the Dakota wizards logo from purple/green to blue/yellow. But kept the old jerseys.
winghaz
I can't even think of the logo or anything else because it's just a total shame the team is being moved. Bismarck is a fantastic basketball city with a wonderful arena. Stupid, stupid move.
poser
The best part is they plan on building a tent to play in!If this proposal is approved by the NBA, it would result in the Golden State Warriors NBA Development League team, the Dakota Wizards, moving to Santa Cruz for the 2012-13 season. The proposal includes a new, temporary 3,200 seat basketball facility in Santa Cruz, the construction of which would be a three-pronged effort between the Warriors, the City of Santa Cruz and the Seaside Company. http://www.nba.com/warriors/santacruzwarriors

DarkJourney
A new basketball arena could possibly be built on the campus of UC-Santa Cruz. Until then they will play in the tent. There was a rumor that San Jose was also in the mix for the Dakota Wizards.

I just don't see SC working as a city as it's pretty isolated from the rest of the bay area and accessibility can be a real pain at times.

I just don't see SC working as a city as it's pretty isolated from the rest of the bay area and accessibility can be a real pain at times.I didn't think it would either quite frankly. I thought it was a mistake when they ended up passing on San Jose and the civic auditorium, which they were originally planning to put the team in. But apparently they've already sold 500 season tickets in Santa Cruz without even having to do any advertising or officially "putting them on sale" (or having even their tentrena laid out yet for that matter). And they were able to acquire the most lucrative naming rights deal in the D-League to date with Kaiser Permanente. There may be more of a market "over the hill" in Santa Cruz than people think. Still it does suck for the folks in Bismark as they did everything right regarding the team (and had a much better arena for them to play in), but the writing was on the wall the day the Warriors bought the team. It makes too much sense to have them in close proximity to the parent club.As for the logo, while I'd prefer minor league teams have their own identity normally separate from the parent team, this logo itself is actually better than the parent logo IMO. Seems balanced better somehow, and using the trident in the seaside town that also forms the W was a nice idea. Definitely better than using a bridge which still doesn't exist in a completed form yet.
Perfect Zero
The best part is they plan on building a tent to play in!http://www.nba.com/warriors/santacruzwarriorsReminds me of the NYTEX Centre for Texas Brahmas hockey. It's a very small arena, but the team owns it and it gets really loud, really fast in there. It's where I learned to love hockey.
