In what world is Tim Duncan a likable superstar?

He's fun to watch and a genuinely good teammate and person, not a borderline sociopath like many NBA stars seem to be.
Tim Duncan is SOOOOOO freaking boring. He's the best mannequin to ever play professional sports. Completely uninteresting most of the time, and whenever he does open his mouth it's usually to whine about petty crap like not being able to wear his polo shirts on the sidelines when he sits out because he's old.

I get that people want someone with less personality than guys like Artest or Iverson because they're totally over the top, but it'd be nice if they at least had SOME personality.

So by your logic:

BORING = UNLIKEABLE/HATED/DETESTED

Nice to know that someone who plays basketball quietly and without controversy is more of a degenerate, NBA player to you than, say, a flamboyant doucnenozzle (LeBron), a couple of certified floppers (Griffin, Paul, Wade) and a stuck-up, childish a$$hole (Dwight Howard).

Ironic how you hate Duncan for being boring, when you root for a team which does nothing but bore the hell out of people during the summer and fall (SF Giants).

-100 points for not listing Kobe among the hateable.

(But yeah...I like Duncan just fine and I don't get hating him for being "boring.")

Envisioning an entertainment hub that would transform downtown, the Milwaukee Bucks plan to build a $500 million arena just north of the BMO Harris Bradley Center and use that as a springboard for an additional $500 million in development, much of it in the largely vacant Park East corridor.

The arena site itself is not surprising — it has been the worst-kept secret in the city for weeks — but the conceptual development plans for the Park East are striking in their breadth.

The worst kept secret is that neither the city or state have no idea on how to pay for it since Gov. Walker's plan was called "nearly dead" by the Senate Majority Leader two weeks ago.

Yeah, it really ought to be hard to get this done under Walker's watch...but arenas always find a way.

How about those Spurs deciding to punch the NBA in the face at the end of the season? Going 19-4 over the last 23 is pretty special, but also special is steamrolling the rest of the west along the way.

The Spurs making a late run at the 2 seed (which they can make if they beat the Rockets again and win out), was unexpected, and hopefully sets up the Spurs/Warriors western final we deserve.

This year's NBA playoffs are going to be incredible. I'm hoping for a Spurs/Cavs final, but really anything would be good.

I can't believe the Kings granted anyone this access. No one looks good here, except for Mullins and Richmond cashing checks.

When Malone was fired, owner Vivek Ranadive's first choice to take over was Chris Mullin, but he objected to take over mid-season. That led to him taking the St. John's job when he hasn't lived in NYC for three decades, has never recruited, and is really not cared about by any current NYC prep player.

Kaz hit the nail on the head: the Spurs are the Cardinals of basketball.

I may not be the biggest baseball fan... But the San Antonio Spur fan base is not as insufferable as the Cardinals's is. Those people are the scum of the earth.

Spurs problem will be health. Splitter has leg issues and their Big 3 could still be playing into June for a third year. Parker's Achilles symptoms are not good for games every other day.

Splitter (calf) is important to the team than he has been during the previous two seasons.

Friday night is Spurs@Rockets on NBATV, but while both play again on Sunday, HOU will have @CHA on Monday night.

Real weird happenings.

Chris Copeland of the Pacers was stabbed early morning Wednesday out side of an NYC nightclub. Thano Sefolosha and Pero Antic of the Hawks were there and arrested for obstruction because they weren't leaving the area. Some reports say they were trying to block people taking photos of Copeland.

Now a source says Sefolosha has a broken ankle from the incident and is out for the season.

The Union isn't happy that the NYPD tried to "splint" his leg between the arrest and arraignment.

Michelle Roberts doesn't seem to play around too.

As for the NYPD, they probably thought the party was three black players: Copeland, Thabo, and Carlos Boozer.

But they had the fake Boozer in Pero Antic, tats and all.

At this rate, the next time the Spurs probably lose a game will be STOP THE PRESSES headlines.

Under Popovich, the Spurs don't care about the press, as a result the press (thus mainstream America) doesn't care for the Spurs. Spurs management doesn't want to be media friendly or make their players available, but gladly accepts the national media $$$.

The Warriors have Steph Curry who now is NBA'S "Everyman" and the favorite player of the kid. People will root for him/them over San Antonio.
