As for the CSA flag comparisons....I doubt a Republican President-elect from the Northeast is purposefully trying to evoke the Confederate battle flag Never said it was purposeful. I was just saying it has a resemblance. Likely coincidental, or maybe intended to be subtle. Who knows? It was purely a design comparison.
IceCap
Speaking of the Social Credit Party... What's this supposed to be? I figure they went "well no one can figure out our platform. Might as well carry that over to the logo." DTConcepts
The way they have it on the podium shrinks it too much for it to be readable at any level. It's a different version, but all I can make out is the outline of America and some stripes at the bottom. Still sucky. His podiums have also always been crowded. They've always had to say "TRUMP" in huge lettering, the city/venue, his website, and then "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" Too much. Also, this guy makes that pose too much. Adding "PENCE" in didn't help, either. "You ain't gonna learn what you don't wanna know..."
kroywen
Given how little his campaign spent, it's no surprise that they never invested in any sort of graphics designer. It's like night and day compared to the sleek, cohesive graphic identity of the two Obama campaigns (especially 2012). In an age where everyone is trying to emulate that (and usually failing, like Romney's toothpaste logo or Hillary's hospital logo), the Trump campaign really stood out graphically. And even 10 years ago, it would've fit right in with most other campaigns (albeit still looking a bit cheap).

I was incredibly proud of the design team's strategy throughout the entire campaign but in that 20/20 hindsight, it almost seems like the sleek, almost-too-perfect identity was part of HRC's authenticity problem. When daydreaming about the 2020 presidential election, as I often do, every potential logo I think of for a Democratic challenger is far more conventional. No more light blue, no more one-letter symbols. We ought to have "KLOBUCHAR FOR PRESIDENT" in an italicized sans-serif font and call it a day! concepts: washington football (2017) ... nfl (2013) ... yikes potd 10/20/12 origin story

There's an article on FastCoDesign.com about Trumps main brand symbol - the red hat - that offers some good analysis on this: http://www.fastcodesign.com/3066599/the-worst-design-of-2016-was-also-the-most-effective/ "[...]while the hat is not good design, it is good branding. [...] The "undesigned" hat represented this everyman sensibility, while Hillary's high-design branding—which was disciplined, systematic, and well-executed—embodied the establishment narrative that Trump railed against and that Middle America felt had failed them. "The DIY nature of the hat embodies the wares of a 'self-made man' and intentionally distances itself from well-established and unassailable high-design brand systems of Hillary and Obama," Young says. "Tasteful design becomes suspect . . . The trucker cap is as American as apple pie and baseball."
DeFrank
Was watching the first episode of the fourth season of The West Wing tonight and thought it would be fun to post some of the Spoiler Bartlet for America branding below. For context, this campaign rally would have been in September 2002 ahead of the 2002 general election (different than in real life of course). concepts: washington football (2017) ... nfl (2013) ... yikes potd 10/20/12 origin story
