FiddySicks
Match them head-to-head, and I'll take BVB 7 times out of 10, at least. PSG's numbers are inflated due to playing so many bottom feeders while Dortmund is only 5 points out in a league that is head and shoulders better IMO. PSG beat Troyes 9-0 just a few weeks ago, to give you an idea of what their competition level is. As much as PSG is my most hated team in the sport, and that Dortmund ranks my favourite team in the Bundesliga, the LFP and French football as a whole requires me to believe and want PSG to crush Dortmund. PSG is in a rare form that will result them in taking away the best honour that OM has, of being the only Ligue 1 team to win the Champions league. marble21
Man City playing worse football than Newcastle? Come on, you're better than that. Liverpool v Dortmund - everything that's wrong with 'modern' football has been highlighted by this fixture. It's as if what goes on during the 90 minutes (x2 legs) is less important than the build up to the match and the previous achievements of each club. Why look forward to PSG v City, a not too dissimilar matchup played in a more prestigious competition, when you can get your (half and half) scarves out and sing along to a pre match song. dfwabel
Quote Uefa is considering a major revamp of the Champions League, with the group stage potentially cut to 16 teams. The move is being driven by continental clubs’ concern that they are being left behind by huge revenues generated by the Premier League and the revised format may mean so-called lesser teams having a reduced presence in the group phase. Changing the group stage into what would effectively be two mini super-leagues is being considered by European football’s governing body, according to sources at a major Premier League club. Uefa is expected to announce any changes to their flagship competition next season, before the sale of the next cycle of commercial deals. As the Champions League is in the first term of a three-year rights contract it would be difficult for any change until after the 2017-18 edition. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/23/uefa-champions-league-revamp

In terms of what he 'did' for the game and how big a name he is in terms of football history, you could probably only put Pele and Maradona ahead of him with real certainty. Definitely going to attempt a few Cruyff turns in my next 5-a-side match. UBI FIDES IBI LUX ET ROBUR

Jaffa
Cruyff's notable for a couple of uniform-based quirks, and as that's one of the reason's we're all here... First, he's arguably the first player to have become known for wearing a number outside of the traditional 1-11 - his famous '14', of course. Can it be said then that he introduced the notion of the squad number to association football? Early in his career, he tended to wear the number 9 - however, when the kit hamper was opened before one match the 7 shirt favoured by one of Cruyff's team mates was missing. Cruyff volunteered to let him wear 9, and grabbed one of the spare shirts for himself. This was numbered '14', and he ended up sticking with this number wherever possible for the rest of his career, even breaking the Netherlands' alphabetical squad system at the 1974 World Cup. That wasn't the only notable feature of Cruyff's kit at that World Cup, though. The Dutch kits were made by Adidas, who had introduced the practice of adding their three stripes to the shirts, shorts and socks. Cruyff however had a personal sponsorship with rival firm Puma, and refused to wear the Adidas branding in such an obvious manner. In the end, a compromise was reached - Adidas produced a batch of kit and training wear for Cruyff which only featured two stripes, meaning the Dutch captain took to the field wearing a non-uniform uniform. There's tinkering and then there's this hot mess. Yedlin at right mid? Zadres on the wing? Orozco at center-back, where he has no chemistry with Omar Gonzalez instead of Geoff Cameron, who was playing right back? I can't comprehend. No one on the offensive side looked like they had ever played together. This team got exactly what they deserved. I'm truly hoping for some cohesive form of a Starting XI when I see them play in Columbus on Tuesday. But who am I kidding...Beckerman will start on the wing, Craig Bingham will start at striker, and Dempsey will be at center back. It's Klinsmann logic! lopernv
I have no idea why Floro played Doneil at RB. Wouldn't have cost Canada the game - completely out of their depth - but he looked way out of place. Larin seemed like he had somewhere much better to be than BC Place... Borjan, Atiba, Arfield impressed at least. Tuesday will be an absolute gongshow, however.

Klinsmann is definitely on the hot seat to say the least.
