West Coast Eagles AFL player Ashley Sampi's 5 year career is inextricably linked to this photo of his "screamer" against the Melbourne Demons, which was judged the AFL Mark of the Year in 2004:

The brighter the lights shine on him, the more evident the shadows that loom in the background become.

Here's a good one for TO. Sums up his career pretty well

1. Shows off his incredible conditioning. Dude was serious about his diet and his training, and it showed throughout his career. Coming back to not only play in, but be the best player on the field in SB39 was one of the most heroic acts in the NFL. Had they won, a bigger deal would have been made about it.

2. Shows how his antics and need for attention served as a distraction for the teams he played on. This was taken in his driveway during training camp when he was sent home for a few days. The famous "next question" press conference followed shortly after.

If only they could have kept him and gotten rid of McNabb instead.
