Not a good sign for the attendance at Salt Lake.

To be fair the team was winless coming into this game. The locals probably already marked this team as losers despite being competitive in the first two games.

The game was over for Arizona once their starting QB went down

Knight wasn't very sharp or accurate and there were some bad reads as well. The plan to throw a hook and ladder was silly. Throw outs to the sticks and get out.

So ummm...what was up with Utah's field today?  The End zones said UTES and the Red "U" of Utah at midfield and the Pac 12 logos.

I guess the field crew gave as much of a crap as the people of Salt Lake did regarding the Stallions.

It would have been the same thing probably if Arizona was playing in Glendale and the end zones said Cardinals, with the Cardinals logo at midfield and the NFL logos.

Actually it would have been more embarrassing for the AAF.

It's all stitched in. They'd have to replace the entire field to use their own logos and designs.

Unlike the Liberty Bowl, Utah's Field Turf came is custom.  The endzones are red and white plastic blades and the numerals and Pac 12 logos are glued into the turf.

It would be foolishly unsafe to put another surface over that turf.

Any other football stadiums like that?

Hmmmm....

Boise State

Eastern Washington

Central Arkansas

Baylor

Texas

West Virginia

Ohio State

Michigan

Most college stadiums are exactly like Utah and do not need to be repainted week to week.

To be fair(er), they still had since September to sell tickets.

Other than season ticket holders taking advantage of a discount, who on earth would buy tickets in advance with associated fees when you can just buy them at the door for the face value price? Plus, AAF has been abysmal with marketing in the weeks leading up to the season.

High school stadiums have that too. It's not unique at all. Painting blank endzone is actually the oddball.

A chalk based paint that can pressure washed off shouldn't hurt that turf at all. It sounds like Utah just didn't want to include that into their rent or aaf just wasn't willing to pay.

It'd have been better if Salt Lake had red and black colors to make it not look so obvious.
