Anyone who listens to Basically a Sports Show knows my position on Major League Baseball in Florida. It was a bad idea from the start and it just got worse from there. Those two teams are never going to be successful in Florida. Move them, get rid of them, or find a way to have them play just the Yankees, Red Sox, and Cubs for their home schedules. We won't rest until we have all 5 major sports in Charlotte! (I'm only slightly joking.) I would love to see an MLB in Charlotte one day, and at this point it seems like more of a "when, rather than if" and Charlotte would be the top relocation destination for the Rays... if we hadn't pumped millions into a non-expandable minor league stadium. Ideally, the relocated MLB team would be the only team in town. MLB needs to come to grips with the fact that it doesn’t have the status it used to.
