I think the NCAA banning him for like 10 games was his reason to keep on going. He just wants one more championship so he can show the NCAA the finger before leaving.

Sorry, it took Jim Boeheim like 23 years to win his first NCAA title.

If it took Jim that long to win one, there's no way he can stay alive to do that again.

A very nice man in three of my six Final Four visits in which I met him on the Sunday night before the championship game.  He was good to me and my then GF in 2002 and 2004, but Phil Martelli is the MAN, who I still exchange holiday cards with.  That's a guy you want to meet.

Isn't Boeheim still in Syracuse because Mike Hopkins is in Washington?

In a way, but Hopkins is a California kid from Laguna Beach.  The UCLA job, could be in is wheelhouse, although UCLA is the toughest job in college basketball.

NC State scored just 24 points today, and they weren't playing Virginia.

Does the "I prefer college basketball" Stan really like that? or a typical UVa game for that matter?

Some of them will pretend they like it just like some football fans pretend to like games that end 6-3 as some badge proclaiming that they're smarter sports fans than the rubes that just want points. Of course, a lot of college basketball fans don't understand that NBA teams will obviously score more points since their games are longer, the shot clocks are shorter, and there are more guys who can score f*** you points. In their mind it's because NBA players are too lazy to play defense.

It's amazing that Memphis getting only 13 points wasn't the worst half by a team today. USF had more points by the time Memphis got their first field goal than NC State scored in their entire game. That's just silly in all directions.

Stop it.

6-3 football games at nearly every level above Pop Warner are awesome. Oh wait, Pop Warner doesn't have kicking.

6-2 or 8-3 is even better since a game with a Safety is always a better game.

As for Penny's Tigers. how the hell does a dude light it up for 41 in the 2nd half, and still lose?

The craziest thing about that game is the shot numbers. You would think that putting up 24 points in a game would be the result of VT playing pretty stifling defense, but not really. NCST was 9-54(!) from the field and 2-28 from three (and they missed their first 11 three point shots). Yeesh.

Yeah, Tech is a “live or die by the 3” team. NC State was just ice cold (Tech wasn’t too hot either but I’ll take it).

I understand they don’t want a “home team” and that ranking and bracketology is tricky but Louisville and Kentucky not being in the south which is held in Louisville is really stupid looking. Kansas and Iowa St. not being in Kansas City too. And Michigan state and Michigan not being in the same bracket. And Virginia not playing in DC. I could go on. I know they have their reasons. Just pretty funny

They don't want conference teams to meet until the Elite 8.

Louisville cannot play at the KFCYum! Center due to that it IS their home court.  There is four or five-game maximum at an arena to prohibit you from playing there during the Sweet 16. Villanova stopped playing past that limit to hopefully stay at home when the Regional is at the Wells Fargo Center.

The media will be all over Duke after their 20-point comeback against Louisville, whose horrendous play in the last 10 minutes led them to lose. However, other top 10 teams, like North Carolina and Kentucky, breezed past the Cardinals in that very arena with double digit wins, and never really trailed. Something to consider.

Duke played at UVa  prior, so it was two road games in 72 hours. Heck, winning at UVa, they shot 13/21 from 3PT, so they regressed to their mean. A Quad 1 road win is just no matter the margin, is always a NET positive (see the pun).

Neither UNC nor UK had the same circumstances. In fact, Kentucky had the previous week off.

Something to consider, as Duke should still be either #1 or #2 when #s 5, 6, &12 all lost tonight with 6 and 12 losing on the road.

Man, I gotta give some love to my school, Nebraska-Omaha. Beat SDSU on a last second shot after trailing by 16 in the second half to pull within half a game of the conference lead and we have a legitimate shot at the first D-1 tournament birth in school history.

Hands down the best game I’ve ever seen in person.

Kyrie Irving was the best college basketball player of all time. Get in. Do your thing for a few games. Get drafted number 1.

Zion should have shut it down in December.

That's what Scottie Pippen said a month ago.  Granted, Scottie flip-flops a lot on things like LeBron comparisons to MJ, but he was so right about Zion.

IT chimed in tonight too.

Please, have everything medically be negative as Twitter was fantastic tonight with the memes.

EDIT: Coach K just said a knee sprain, with physios and Drs. on Twitter thinking sprained MCL.

Sheeeeeeit

And MCL sprain? :censored:.

Shut down NCAA basketball. No top player should go there. Go to China. G League.  Europe. Don't give those talents away for nothing.
