Surprised that no other team in any sport has tried calling the Golden 1 Center home...you'd think the new home of the Kings would welcome a new tenant. Is there an owner beating the bushes for a team? Just because there's a facility doesn't mean it's deserving of a team. Geez - where's Bear124?? (Who's getting that one?) Quote It's where I sit. I wasn't specifically talking about just arena football...I meant ANY team in ANY sport (even if it's the Sacramento Monarchs coming back, or the PVF or NLL coming to Sacto). But if Sacto's content with the Kings and their concerts & events, more power to 'em...a lot of these other tenants may not last, while the concert & event dates are more lucrative.

Is it even built for hockey? There's a surprising number of basketball first venues that just can't be configured for hockey or larger. Sometimes out of spite. Such as the Peterson Events Center in Pittsburgh that made sure there was no way they could be pressured into housing the Penguins if and until when the team got a new arena. Seattle's old arena. The Clippers new venue is being built to not be able to host hockey. I'm sure there's more. And that's not including the hybrid that have the one end pushed back like Arizona or Utah. Giving horrible sightlines and obstructed views for a large number of remaining seats.

Burmy
And already they've announced another team...will play out of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. No name chosen as of yet (there'll be a contest for that), but it is nice to know that Albany's not gonna be on such an island next year. From the southern US, it's under 4 non-stop. Not too different than a cross-country trip, but odd for a super-minor league with a shoestring budget to be doing. I also wonder with these little leagues that want to be international, do they do any extra vetting to ensure that all of their players can even get passports? Like, do they care more about criminal records than the NFL does (which is a very low bar to meet)? I know having a felony doesn't preclude one from getting a passport, but it can be more complicated and other countries can deny you entry. 1 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." LMU
Why do I not have any faith in a reboot of a one-year reboot being able to manage immigration logistics for multiple rosters of players, many of which are churned in and out more often than trays at a Vegas buffet?
