Here’s the audio:

Specifically, he thinks the A’s are out of the Coliseum within no later than five years, and while not explicitly predicting they’ll end up in Las Vegas, implied that it may be the most prudent option for them.

If they are on their way out of Oakland, when and how would they do it? Will they do what the Raiders did and play a couple lame duck seasons at the Coliseum while a ballpark in Las Vegas is constructed? Will they try to split games between Oakland and Las Vegas (similar to what Montreal did in Puerto Rico) until a new ballpark is built? Will they abandon the Coliseum and try to rent from the Giants until a ballpark is built in Vegas? Will they rent from the Giants and split games in San Francisco and Las Vegas? Will they move to Las Vegas and play at their minor league park until a new ballpark is built? Several options but what is the best?

Might as well move the A's "temporarily" to Mullett Arena.  It was built on the site of ASUs former baseball stadium. After which ASU moved its baseball to Phoenix Municipal Stadium in 2015 after the A's moved their spring training out of that stadium. The circle would be complete.

Just to add, the A’s went from Phoenix Muni to Hohokam, which had just been abandoned by the Cubs for their new Spring Training facility just east of the ASU campus, Sloan Park.

God, I miss all the live baseball that the Phoenix area has to offer.

This phrase/sentiment will be old enough to drink pretty soon, if it isn't already.

That phrase/sentiment is nearly as old as I am, and I’m in my mid 30s.

Yeah, but you never know

They've actually been to Las Vegas, met with representatives there and came away happy with the prospect of moving there if things don't work out in Oakland. It's been pretty clear for awhile now that Vegas is their preferred option after Oakland, for both the A's AND MLB.

They, nor anyone else, has met with Portland. Portland has actually tumbled down the list of preferred sites for relocation or expansion. Las Vegas, Nashville and Montreal are the top tier choices. Charlotte, Portland and San Antonio/Austin are more than likely in the second tier.

Why would they relocate the A's to a market that's 2 hours from Seattle, doesn't have ownership wanting a team there, doesn't have an MLB-ready stadium and wouldn't even be the best option to go to in the Pacific Northwest (that spot goes to Vancouver), when they can go to Vegas and have a team that's in a booming sports market and is relatively close to the Dodgers, Angels, Padres and Diamondbacks?

I think the A’s should build a stadium at the bottom of Lake Mead. They’ll be no less under water than they are now, and they’re really getting in on some prime real estate just a few years early!

Still holding out hope for PDX to get a team...I'm sure they're gonna rebuild their buzz once the A's and Rays handle their business and MLB actually announces that expansion is open.

(Maybe I'm just biased because I'm going there in ten days, and it's one of the places I'm considering moving to)
