I honestly think it's more likely that the Spurs move up to Austin down the line than an expansion team getting put there.

Considering the Spurs are playing home games in Mexico City and Austin, I'm here with you on this. However, I could see the NHL moving into Austin though to anchor a new arena.

Austin is probably okay with their AHL team, the Texas Stars.  Right now the city will have to be content with Austin FC, owned by a glorified frat boy.

Might as well at this point. I think the Heat’s guard play this series has put any of the “They’re better without Herro” talk to bed.

I thought the only thing questionable about Herro was his blaccent

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

In all fairness, part of my thinking when I typed that post was that (a) the population of not only Austin and its metro area, but also the whole state of Texas, has been growing to the point that Texas could soon be -- if it is not already -- able to support four NBA franchises (just as California does), and (b) having the Rockets, the Spurs, and the Mavericks all stay put and then adding an Austin team would be a more sensible path to four NBA clubs in Texas than, say, a second Greater Houston franchise or even a team on the Fort Worth side of the North Texas Metroplex (regardless of what becomes of the Spurs).

RE New Orleans the league already bent over backwards for them once, they probably will again. They'll fight for Memphis and OKC too. The league likes places where they're the only major league game in town.

Refs trying to will this series to a sixth game. That call on the Butler three is absurd.

Doesn't matter... Nuggets win!

edit: a combined 14-63 (22%) from three.  Nuggets were 13-23 from the line.  Ugly game.

Hey good for the Nuggets.

When I was first trying to learn all of the NBA teams, the two teams that I always consistently forgot existed were the Milwaukee Bucks and the Denver Nuggets. Both have now won titles in the last three seasons. That’s awesome. As @Cujo knows (who is also the only Nugs fan I know. Congrats man!), I love the underdog and the new blood champion. I love that we’ve gotten a lot of that in the NBA recently to break up some of the dynasty monotony.

This rules.

Wish it didn’t have to come against us but that’s one hell of a team Denver’s got. After all the bad takes about the Nuggets defense this year to see them win that way was dope.

We could have played better sure but this is about as good as we could have done at the end of a long playoff run down two rotation players, and this run is some if the most fun I’ve ever had as a sports fan.

Jokic has no equal right now. None.

It’s so awesome to see Aaron Gordon and Bruce Brown reach their full potential too.

i have unquantifiable corpses on my conscience

The bad news about the Nuggets winning is that this is the third championship for Stan Kroenke.

Yep. Third straight. Rams. Avalanche. Nuggets.

Congratulations to the Denver Nuggets for winning their 1st NBA Championship.

It's nice to see that there's hope for teams other than the Lakers, Celtics, Warriors, and Heat.

Big fan of first time Champions, that was why I chose the Nuggets and didn't care who won the Stanley Cup.

Congrats to the Nuggets and their fans.

It’s always strange to walk away from a series without feeling one bit of ill will towards the opposing team, but that’s how I’ll remember this Finals. The Heat played out of their minds to get to this point, but didn’t seem to have anything left. Jimmy especially.
