That is a bit strange. Like 2019 when three of the four were brand new/off a huge drought champions.

Well, that depends on if you view the 2019 title as a 2018 Patriots (because their Super Bowl wasted everybody's time in 2019) or a 2019 Chiefs win. If it's the latter, we're talking 4/4 (Blues, Raptors, Nationals, and Chiefs).

This year, we've got the Golden Knights, Nuggets, Rangers (all first-timers) and either the Chiefs or [Insert Eagles/Seahawks/Lions/Chiefs/Dolphins - only the Lions and Dolphins are particularly accursed here].

We can now remove the Rangers from this infamous list:

Arizona Cardinals (76 years)

Cleveland Guardians (75 years)

Sacramento Kings (72 years)

Detroit Lions (65 years)

Atlanta Hawks (65 years)

Texas Rangers (62 years)

Minnesota Vikings (62 years)

Calling my shot- the Kings will be the next team off that list

A special congratulations should go out to Rangers relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman, who pitched briefly in tonight's game.  Now, he is part of two especially history-making World Series title runs; he was one of the relievers on the Chicago Cubs squad that won the 2016 Fall Classic.

The Chiefs did win their second Super Bowl that year, but technically it's their first in the NFL as when they won in 1969, it was when they were in the American Football League.

Bruce 🐐 chy.

I was pulling for the D Backs, mainly due to the absurdity of them even being there, but I’m stoked for the Rangers. Good for them! I hope this helps put to rest some of the pain 2011 caused.

Nice little run there, D Backs. Nothing to be ashamed of. Probably had no business even being there, but they earned it by beating the teams in front of them. Snaketober was fun!

This was one of those World Series where you're good with whoever wins. I can't tell you the last time I felt this was about a WS. Maybe 2014? Both teams were nice story. Upstart Dbacks vs the Rangers' drought. Players and managers are mostly good dudes. No powers like the YankSox or Dodgers. And especially the Astros* were nowhere in sight!

Lions have a shot this year.

Rangers Radio Broadcaster Eric Nadel with the call on the Radio:

Nadel had taken several months off to deal with his mental health during Spring Training and returned to the radio broadcast in August.  He had been with the Rangers since 1979 and on the radio for the Rangers since 1982.

The year of the Super Bowl championship is always for the year the season took place. Remember when the Washingtons caught all that flack for getting the years wrong on this?

Point being, the Super Bowl played in 2019 was for the 2018 championship.

Speaking of infamous lists, the Rangers' triumph means that the San Diego Padres (first season: 1969), the Seattle Mariners (first season: 1977), the Colorado Rockies (first season: 1993), and the Tampa Bay Rays (first season: 1998) are MLB's four remaining current teams without a World Series championship, with the Mariners having the added indignity of being MLB's only extant team that has not yet even played in a World Series.

Very excited Rangers fan here.  Grew up in the Metroplex, and still in a little bit of shock.  Well done and congrats boys!

I live in the Metroplex now and listening to a post game and among the fanbase there is relief that Game 6 of 2011 is no longer the dark cloud that haunts the franchise.

Heartwarming! This pitcher finally has more rings than domestic violence suspensions!

Add: Milwaukee Brewers.
