The remaining teams and locations will be unveiled tomorrow during College Gameday

As both a Mizzou and XFL fan, I approve of the new UFL logo.😉

I loved the old UFL in 2009. Four teams sharing the same colors, and those colors were in the logo. Cohesive.  California Redwoods was a great name.

They moved to Sacramento the next year and the ownership group who ran them (they changed to the Sac Mountain Lions) ended up founding Sac Republic of the USL.

It's because the Roughnecks actually played in Houston while the Gamblers never did.

Would've given them the chance to have a cohesive branding after the first logo was deemed "too NFLy".

Would've also been one way to promote this as a 50/50 merger, rather than what it was. Four best XFL markets and the three 'home' markets that were 'home' markets in the USFL. We all knew the thousand or so fans showing up in Canton weren't cutting it in USFL.

I'm just curious what image this UFL is trying to project. USFL at least went 'throwbacks'... XFL went 'new and edgy'... UFL is just... "We have football, please watch."

With everyone rolling into Fox and ESPN, I think they're trying to give the impression they're keeping the best of both leagues going forward.

A revival of the name of a failed football league not actually associated with the original failed football league created by combining the revival of the name of failed football league not actually associated with the original failed football league with the revival of a name of a failed football league league no longer associated with the original failed football league.

Brilliant stuff.

I've got a dribbble, check it out if you like my stuff; alternatively, if you hate my stuff, send it to your enemies to punish their insolence!

Outside of the boards, how many people even remember the old UFL? People who had UPN? They needed a new name, so this is probably the best call. For 2025, I'd like to see them get support from the NFL, Similar to the original WLAF of 1991-1992. If they can get some of those third and fourth stringers more game time, especially if the NFL gets its wish of 18 games and only two preseason games, that will help both leagues. The NFL isn't paying to run the league, can test game rules, and review new candidates for game officials.

The NFL only chooses officials who are willing to be incompetent and not know what they are doing when they do games for Sundays in the fall.

I would dare to say that most average people don't remember or had even heard of the original UFL. The name also makes sense here at least.

Just going to say that from a design perspective I see the Roughnecks as a major downgrade from the Gamblers.  The logo is fine, but those uniforms were pure clown show with the 3 color helmets, numbers on one side, the weird overalls shoulder yoke, just a bad look.

I am also not a fan of the Brahmas' look.  Electrified broaster chicken for a logo. Not great.

DC is fine, St. Louis is solid, but sad to see the good designs for the Breakers, Stars, Generals, Maulers (though I prefered the purple & orannge) and the Gamblers gone.

Yes, I am a USFL guy, I get that, but overall a downgrade in my book.  That plus I expect we will get the Rock and Dani Garcia shoved down our throats at every possible turn, which I find really annoying.

Considering that by all accounts the USFL was more financially solid than the XFL, I cannot figure out why the XFL seems to have dominated this merger.

I  guess having stadium contracts really was the factor for this league.

Anxious to know if UA is still involved and if this merger encourages the league to fix some of the XFL 3.0 mistakes (Renegades primary logo, helmet, and away uniform, for example).

I can’t imagine they’d just hold over non-UA uniforms for 3 teams.

Perfect time to make uniform/logo changes.   Sadly, based on their logo, I have no faith they’ll do it.

I'd hope Memphis got a new look. Otherwise you have two teams with that jagged yoke look. The rest fit the template with no issues. I would also like Houston to copy the 2020 uniform with the silver helmets and the 2023 logos.

They had every chance to name the conferences USFC and XFC, but just had to keep “League” in there. For what purpose?

Because X doesn't stand for anything.

I also see that as a downgrade. And I'd say that the logo is terrible, a problem compounded by the departed Gamblers logo being in the top tier all-time.

Also, the nickname stinks, as opposed to the Gamblers nickname.

I hope the NFL makes a few more legal threats, and that the UFL wises up and changes the team's identity to the Gamblers.

They're not changing. I just hope they fix the dumb helmet.

They are likely to keep all of their league sponsors, many of whom are associated with the Rock.
