Sport
I think this is so weird - Not counting the COVID NIT, there have been 12 of these best of three wildcard miniseries. Only two have gone to a third game and the team who wins Game 1 has won all 12 series. If you count the COVID NIT, 16 out of 20 best of three playoff series have ended in two and teams who win Game 1 have won 18 out of 20 series. I guess it's better than a 1 game playoff, but winning that first game is almost just as good.

Both of those WC Game 3's included the Mets, oddly enough.
TrueYankee26
For those groaning that this could be an all big market WS like Yankees vs Dodgers, honestly it could also easily be Tigers vs Padres, helps that the Tigers are playing at a 2007 Rockies esque form since August 11 Quote trueyankee26.wordpress.com
Bagel
As someone who was at the game last night, I can very much second the great Bob Uecker in saying "That one had some sting on it."

I was listening to the game on the radio and heard him say that. I'm not even from Milwaukee and I felt that. What a brutal end.
BBTV
Who's this Senga fella that the Mets are trotting out there tomorrow? I don't think I've ever seen him or even knew he was on the team. Came over from Japan last year as 30-odd year old "rookie" and pitched pretty darn well, including being named on the All Star team, but has been dealing with a run of injuries this year and only appeared once or twice all season Quote 1 hour ago, BringBackTheVet said: sorry sweetie, but I don't suck minor-league d CCSLC Post of the day September 3rd 2012
TrueYankee26
Very good day in NY baseball with the Mets coming back to win game 1 in Philly and the Yankees win an epic game that featured 5 lead changes, the most in an MLB postseason game Quote trueyankee26.wordpress.com

Grimace threw out the first pitch as part of some promotion, and the Mets instantly went on a win streak. floydnimrod
In addition to being stupid in general the digital ad boards with fake national ads added by the broadcast make at-bats look terrible if anyone is standing on front of it. In of the wildcard series they were overlaying a T-Mobile ad over an existing T-Mobile ad. Also, made the mistake of clicking some trend on twitter and it was a bunch of people complaining about how the national baseball announcers are rooting for the other team (from both fanbases!). Sports fans remain the SOFTEST people on the planet. Quote Mancakes: The Bandhttps://twitter.com/FloydNimrod

Been fun watching these two teams then the Yankees and Dodgers. Plus I think the Tigers have more energy than the 2007 Rockies. This team is one away from the ALCS and honestly would love to see a Detroit vs KC match up.
