This is annoyingly accurate. Even the smallest "me" play can derail. Yesterday I thought that was Chase's Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty on their second to last drive. Goes from a 3rd & 7 at the Chiefs 30 to a 3rd & 22 at the Chiefs 45. They were lucky to get a 53 yard field goal out of it but if he stays composed and stops arguing, penalty doesn't happen they keep the momentum of that drive going. Is it a guarantee they pick up the first? Of course not but it certainly would have been more likely than what actually happened. A TD in that drive changes the whole end of that game. Speaks volumes to the franchises that can get all of their players to buy-in and remain disciplined. 2 Quote 73, 77, 81, 83, 90, 06 29, 30, 31, 36, 39, 44, 61, 62, 65, 66, 67, 96,

The_Admiral
Andy Dalton still starting NFL games in 2024. What a thoroughly acceptable career. The quarterback obsession that has gripped the NFL really needs to subside. As defenses appear to be reasserting themselves a bit, we're seeing so many young quarterbacks get chewed up and spit out: Bryce Young, Justin Fields, Josh Rosen, Dwayne Haskins, arguably Tua Tagavailoa, potentially Caleb Williams. Maybe the model needs to shift from the quarterback being a singular savior and get back to thinking of the quarterback, your largest investment, as the final piece of the puzzle. Even Patrick Mahomes was behind Alex Smith for a bit, as Rodgers was behind Favre. Sometimes we did things that didn't make sense for reasons that actually did make sense. 5 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

There's a bubble that's trending towards a burst, for sure. Interior offensive linemen have begun getting paid far more and drafted way higher than in years past, perhaps borne out of that same (and unfortunately non-Bears-like) mentality of building an offense from the offensive line outward. The whole "sit the young star behind the savvy vet" QB practice can work, but it only seems to function if the rookie is coming into an offense that has had a decent veteran quarterback already established. The Bears have twice tried to sign free agent starters (Glennon, Dalton) the same offseason that they drafted rookie quarterbacks in round one (Trubisky, Fields), and it's been incredibly unfruitful. Both veterans were quickly benched and they offered little to nothing for the rookies to absorb, as they were retreads when they were acquired and the offensive systems were just as familiar to them as they were to the rookies. I dunno. Basically the Bears organization is incredibly frustrating and I hate myself for ever liking them. Quote Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. That’s exactly how it should be, but as CS85 said, it only works when teams are patient and work a new guy in with an established QB. A lack of patience is so prevalent within NFL front offices and ownership. Hell, it might have helped Trey Lance be an ok quarterback if he sat behind Jimmy G like Brock did. Not that Lance’s ceiling was ever that high, but I can dream. 1 Quote MLB: Project 32 (Complete), MLB: The Defunct Saga (Complete)
The_Admiral
I was gonna say that the 49ers are one of the only teams that didn't treat the quarterback position as a gift from the gods, actually built a solid roster, and as such have been the only team that's been a legitimate threat to the Chiefs. No, the Ravens coughing up 15 yards at a time for doing dances and punching people don't count. 4 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

I have yet to see either of my stupid, yet wholly underrated, football teams (Sun Devils and Bucs) lose yet this year. I’m sure it’ll come crashing g back to earth soon enough, but for now I’m gonna ride this high, baby. Dude, Baker's run yesterday into the endzone was the last push into the water I needed to be baptized as a 'Baker believer.' I was incredibly skeptical of him last year and yet time and time again, he's proven to be a potential Top 10 quarterback in the league right now. His accuracy has been on point, he seems to be forming a good band with Godwin coming back from injury and his scrambling usage has been very good, minus the occasional hit he'll take where I think he should slide instead. Are they a SB contending team? Nah, the CBs are majorly thin and the DL seem to be bitten by the injury bug. But as of now, they're placing themselves to be a very tough out for someone in the playoffs. 1 Quote "And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... Dynasty
Anyway, I saw some of the pregame show for tonight's game and that little bit with Jason Kelce coming back to Lincoln Financial Field. It's got me thinking... Who the hell is "Big Dom?" I don't watch the Eagles nearly at all, but I even remember in that 49ers game last year with the scuffle and Greg Olson going "Oh! There's Big Dom right there!" How does he know who that is? I'm aware the guy is with security personnel for the team, but is he suppose to be that big of a celebrity? SFGiants58
So the game on the slush field wasn’t an accurate representation of either team? Color me surprised!
