Mike Lang has some of the best, most creative phrasings of any hockey broadcaster I've ever heard... which means, of course, that y'all will hate them, becuase they're not dull and boring enough.

"Buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too!"

"Michael, Michael, Motorcycle!"

"Elvis has left the building."

"Scratch my back with a hacksaw!"

My favourite of his, of course, has to be...

"He beat him like a rented mule!"

Bob Uecker was the best thing about the Major League movies...

Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."

Easy, I mentioned them in the other thread.

OOOOOHHHH BABY, WHAT A PLAY!!! and GOD I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!! Kevin Harlan is the greatest. It's kind of depressing watching him do NFL games on CBS sometimes and he can't show the type of emotion he'd like to. It's pretty obvious when those times are, and God love him, he's still a die-hard Chiefs fan at heart, witness how different his calls can be in games involving the Chiefs compared to most any other games .

I've decided to give up hope for all sports teams I follow

I actually kinda like the Chris Berman football calls

"he could go... all the way..."

"rumblin, stumblin, bumblin!"

Not many people realize that these originally were Berman impersonations of two other great sportscasters, and they ended up as his own phrases.

"He ... could ... go ... all ... the ... way!" was said many times on Monday Night Football by the one-and-only Howard Cosell.

"Rumblin', stumblin', bumblin'" is a parody of Keith Jackson's call.

The legendary Chris "Buddha" Handy during rugby telecasts here...

A player gets a clear break or makes for the tryline...

"GO YOU GOOD THING!!"

And then when reviewing the replays of the try its always the description ending with...

" and.. OVERRRRRRRRRRR!"

You North Americans miss a very good thing with Australia's Rex Hunt.

When he thinks the game is techically over, he sings "It's Over" in falsetto, and at the same time his commentary team drape a blow up fat lady out the window of their commentary box.

It's not over until the fat lady jumps out of the window? :therock: She needs to fit through the window first

I saw, I came, I left.

I believe I am one of about 12 or 13 people who really likes Mike Shannon on baseball Cardinal radio broadcasts, hence I enjoy hearing "the ducks are on the pond" when the bases are loaded and "ol' Abner has done it again" when an unlikely play or situation occurs.
