Reversed Rivalry: SF Dodgers and LA Giants

Swiss

Recommended Posts

Swiss...I was making a Cardinals/Cubs one and did a Yankees/Red Sox one as well.  I'll let you do it though, mine sucked.  The B in the yanks style looked awful...

This is fun!

I LIKE YOUR PICS!!! Whatta fun I got watching your work!!! YEAH.

About the Yanks/Red Sox, let's see yours.

Oh, yes... the "B" Yankeealike is a bit hard to work, but I think I can give it a try.

HEY PEOPLE:

What about a contest of reversed rivalries' jerseys? Logos included.

Here is a list concerning baseball:

- Chicago Cubs - Chicago White Sox

- SF Giants - Oakland A's

- Dodgers - Angels

- NY Mets - Atlanta Braves

Of course, that is expandable to NFL, NBA and NHL rivalries. :)

Well, if we want to do the natural rivalries, here's a pretty full lsit for the MLB(05' changes taken into account):

Central/West:

St. Louis-Kansas City

Chi Cubs-Chi Sox

Cincinatti-Cleveland

Houston-Texas

East:

NY Mets-NY Yanks

Washington-Baltimore

Florida-Tampa Bay

West:

LA Dodgers-LA Angels(I refuse to ever use "of Anaheim")

San Francisco-Oakland

I could go on, but those are the only real ones, IMO. I never understood San Diego-Seattle, can anyone explain to me? And let's not forget the red-hot rivalry that the Tigers have with Arizona and Colorado every year. One of the only ones the MLB doesn't do consistently that I think it should is Milwuakee-Minnesota. It makes sense to me...

Of course, you could make it a much bigger contest if you used divisional rivalries(like you already have) AND interleague rivalries.

By the way, swiss, I ususally like the home jersey over the road jersey, but for some reason, the road Giants jersey looks really sweet with "San Francisco" written in blue script.

I like the concept but please, DO NOT INSULT THE DODGERS LIKE THAT! I WOULD NEVER WANT TO SEE THAT HAPPEN.

By the way, I really like the Dodgerized Giants unis. But don't ever do that again! But I still think that it's nice.

This is like watching bad porn or the aftermath of a car accident. In a way you want to turn away from it, but you just can't...

I propose these be called "Kerrys," as they flip-flop the teams and their locations. I'm not saying Kerry really did that Democrats, but the only other name I could think of would be cross-overs, and that ones already taken (and, BTW, really, really overdone).

Anyway, keep 'em coming!

I took the C to mean Cubs and not Chicago. So the C now means...Cardinals.

AKA...I was lazy and didn't want to redo the STL in that font. :P

It kinda got confusing color wise. I tried to keep it if the cubs primary color (Blue) was there, for the cardinal it would be in Red. And visa versa. It ain't pefect, but it still looks fun and is a cool idea.

That "C" in the Cards font might stand for Cubs.

Hey, they'd just wear the navy cap on the road, as the Cards do now.

Saintsfan69, yeah! that surely will be a 2005 hit when the guys show their reversals!!!

I wasn't volunteering to do it. As it was Swiss's innovation he should get a chance to organise it, although if he wants I can do it! (Swiss- PM me iof you want me to get it done!!)

Well... let me make one reversal project more in February and I'll see if the folks want to participate in a contest... so I'll call that guy, Nitro, to organize the stuff.

I believe that the sports that give more fancy to make "successfully" reversal rivalries are:

1 - baseball

2 - world soccer

3 - hockey

4 - NBA

5 - football

Football is going in last place because we only can imagine te reversal projects with... the helmets.

I'm very glad that people here liked too much the idea that I presented. :) Maybe that sparked more bizarre sport designs.
