Mr. 3000

LMU

It doesn't come out until Tuesday, but being a Blockbuster employee, I get to see it early. As I watch, I'll post all the uniform discrepencies that I see.

*First scene, everyone is wearing the 1995 block script Brewers uniform, EXCEPT for one manager, who is wearing the current uni.

*1995 Brewers playing in Miller Park... should have been at County Stadium... but at least they had them in the American League then.

*Bernie Mac's character is wearing a World Series ring... something a Brewer would never have the chance of wearing.

*A sell-out at Miller Park?!

Not to get on you guys but to the newer members there's quite a bit of history of this on the boards. When 'The Rookie' and quite a few other fact-based sports movies came out we had threads pointing out the inconsistencies of the unis and such in the movies,so no bashing his thread because it has precedence for such.Okay.....continue.

Well, the only discrepencies were that one guy wearing the current uni amongst the old, and them playing in miller park in 1995. Seen a lot worse.

I guess the old/new mix is the one drawback of filming all the baseball sequences on the same day(s).

And I don't know if they can even use the image of County Stadium; plus, it might muddle the story (i.e. someone might think 'different stadium=different city?').

It's not as if they needed to film it in Milwaukee, even--remember that Major League, featuring the Cleveland Indians, was filmed at Comiskey Park in Chicago.

It will be very hard to shoot a scene in County Stadium since County Stadium is now a parking lot, and I didn't think that it was that big of a deal that the '95 Brewers jersey Bernie Mac was wearing had standard MLB block instead of the custom font they had with those jerseys. It actually look good to me.

Major League was filmed in Milwaukee, at County Stadium.

Major League II was inexplicably filmed at Camden Yards, which looks nothing like Cleveland Stadium did. Rumor has it they were going to film at

Jacobs Field, but the ballpark wasn't finished yet when fliming started.

2 major baseball movies have been filmed less than 30 minutes away from me in my lifetime. Well, major is used lightly. I was going to go to both of them to be in the crowd, but school and work caused me to miss out.

The Babe (John Goodman, not the pig movie) was filmed in Danville Stadium in Danville Illinois. I was in Junior High at the time I believe and it was filmed on a weekday. If you went they dressed you up in period clothes. I got to play High School and Legion games there and it was very cool. the stands are built in the style of old Yankee's stadium, hense why the movie was filmed there. Two of my teachers from High School can be seen in the movie. One is a photographer and the other is a reporter.

Mr. 3000 was filmed in Milwaukee's Miller park as you all know. I lived in Kenosha at the time, and I nearly went as well but had to work that day. If I remember right, they didn't have nearly enough people to fill miller park. So they filled up the background and it was alot of moving around for those involved.

Btw, I've never been to a game at Miller Park when it wasn't packed. I went to 6 games the first year it opened and they had it packed every night. I also went to a Cardinals game where it was nearly full and a few Cubs games where the Chicagoans come up and pack the place.
