Dilbert
http://www.caldercup.com/Since there will sadly be no Stanley Cup this year, my guess is the next best thing. Who will win the AHL Calder Cup?Im cheering of course for my Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, but I know they wont win. I at least want them to knock off the defending champs Milwaukee. GO DUCKS GO! ROCHitman
Obviously, I'm pulling for my Americans and I'll be attending several of their playoff home games, but I think Manitoba has a good shot at knocking them off in round 2. In the East, I like the Monarchs as long as their goaltending is good. Owner of Kalamazoo Tech Kobras (Nat'l College Fant. Assc. slapshot
I think the champion will come from the new England area this year. Lowell had it best season ever, with 100 points, yet only managed a third place seed. Lowell, Hartford, Manchester or Providence will win the Calder Cup. slapshot
Maybe. Unless Manchester plays Lowell in the next round. Lowell beat Manchester either 8 or 9 times out of 12 games this year, including a couple shutouts in Manchester this year (I'm failry certain). At the AHL All-Star game, both Lowell players (Eric Stall and Chuck Kobasew) were heavily booed by the Manchester crowd.Lowell has owned the Monarchs this season. And I don't think the Monarchs signing of Jeff Hereema this weekend will make much difference.EDIT: I should have expanded on my analysis...If Lowell loses to Hartford and the Monarchs defeat Providence, it will be Manchester all the way. Brian in Boston
Having been born-and-raised in Southeastern Massachusetts, with family in Rhode Island, I've got to root for the Providence Bruins to capture the Calder Cup.That said, I'll be pulling for the following teams in the first round:Providence over ManchesterHartford over LowellWilkes-Barre/Scranton over BinghamtonNorfolk over PhiladelphiaRochester over HamiltonManitoba over St. John'sChicago over HoustonMilwaukee over Cincinnati

RE-PEAT!I plan on catching a few Admirals Calder Cup playoff games at the Bradley Center this year (missed out on last year's playoff run), but it looks like a couple teams are going to give us a run for our money...
