WHo does this guy think he is. He made a deal last year now he is forcing his way out of Philly.

What a jackass I hope he breaks his leg again.

Story

He trully is the worst of the worst and the greediest atheleete of them all I will like to see the Eagles stand tough and make him sit out the entire year. If they do I will have a new respect for that orginization. Im really sick of this guy's act.

If he doesn't work, they shouldn't have to pay him.

The better not release him, but I don't think they will.

I believe if he holds out they don't have to pay them plus even if he misses 1 day of camp TO would have to pay the Eagles 1.something million dollars back in bonus money. I fully expect that TO is going no where.

Owens has another thing coming if he thinks he's gonna be better off playing in Atlanta. That team is a one-trick pony, and always will be as long as Vick is there. Just look at Peerless Price. He was a up and coming "stud reciever" until he landed in the A-T-L. 1252 yards recieving in his last year with the Bills. Last year in Atlanta, just 575 yards recieving.

Good luck to T.O. because this will be his hast "big contract" because those number are gonna drop like rock if he goes to the Falcons.

Yeah but your bound to get way fewer receptions when your quarter back is constantly scrambling out of the pocket for huge runs (no Rob Jhonson's sad attempts at scrambling dont count) and when you have running backs like Duckett and Dunn. Im not saying Price wasnt a dissapointment, but that does play some role in the reasons that he had way fewer yards

Exactly.

Will Owens help the Falcons if he goes there? Probably.

Will his numbers go up? No chance.

I may sound like an Owens backer, but I can't stress how much of this is coming from Drew Rosenhaus. Remember the agents are one of the main reasons us hockey fans went through 309 days of torture.

If he doesn't show at camp he will not get paid. It's something likg 10,000 a day.

Here is the arguement for Owens (since obviously that side isn't represented here)...Rosenhaus has put it this way (and to a degree it makes sense)...The NFL is a cut-throat business- if you don't perform they will cut you. period. So the idea is why can't someone IF they outplay their current deal renegotiate to get a deal that makes their value, based on performance, more up to par.

If owners can wad up your contract for playing bad, why not renegotiate for playing well? See the point?

But here's the point. You can't outplay your contract. The team signs you to play at the highest level you can. You can't can't go higher than your highest.

Plus, TO knew the terms of his contract going in. He knew it wasn't a guaranteed contract. He agreed to that.

TO should have signed a short-term contract. Contracts should have some elements of 'performance based' compensation. I'm not talking 'incentives', $$$ for going above your contracted duties. IMO

Well stated.

The team isn't paying you to give 25, 50, or even 90%. You've signed up for 100%. If your 100% finds you among the league's elite, congratulations, you're living up to what was required of you and getting paid more than 99.99999% of the world. If you're 100% isn't good enough, as stated in the contract, the team has the right to get rid of you.

If you don't like it, don't sign it in the first place.

Personally, I hope he does sign before December 5th, so the 'Hawks can swear his ****ing face all over the Stinc!

Trust me, I have a vendetta against TO for his Sharpie bit. It still angers me whenever anyone brings that up. I would love nothing more then to see him get hammered by Trufant :)

Guys, I have a feeling in the future, this is going to be the average athlete. Athletes will turn into rap stars with the mentaliy "I've been shot and I grow up in bad conditions, so buy my CDs so I can be a millionaire!" only there's will be "I've got kids to feed. Give me $100 million dollars!"

Sad, but probably true very soon  ....

I think it's truly sick that someone hopes another man should break his leg. We're talking about sports and his has a family. No one should hope he gets injuried. I don't blame TO, you can be a star in the NFL one day and be gone the next. It has a huge turn over rate. Granted, he is one of the best WR's in the game and should be there for a long time but what happens if he does break his leg again. He could be done again. It really is cut throat business. Don't take the big money owners side on this one, he has every right to do this. He should play though and I don't expect him to be with Philadelphia next year.

I expect that NFLPA will battle long and hard with NFL for new contracts when their CBA is up.

Im also getting pretty sick of him, last years eagles had an amazing season why would anyone want to leave an organization like that, also they can win with out him. They made it to the superbowl while he was injured. I think TO is the reason they lost the game. They tried having him carry the team to victory, instead of giving the ball to some of there other key players, and to keep the pats guessing, pinkston, westbrook, mcnabb could have done it with out the biznitch.
