Arizona Cardinals in New Uniforms Tonight

Pantone, I know this is directed at my comment.  To let you know, I am a fan of the underdog typically.  The Cards are no exception.  I guess I was anticipating a follow up comment, so I stated the obvious.

If you think I'm still trying to make myself feel superior, so be it.  I guess we all have our own path to feeling superior.

Actually, my statement was more a response to some other remarks I've seen in this thread and others. Yours was just a trigger for my response (in fact, yours was fairly clever in comparison to the others). Didn't really mean to lash out at you.

I just do not like talking smack - it's probably the end result of all of the taunting I got as a kid...being the "only" Cardinals fan in Indiana in the '70s...

You know, I went through that garbage too (being picked on, that is) until I started taking kids on in Madden using the Cardinals. Come to find out, the Cardinals weren't that bad afterall :D Rosenbach wasn't such a bad QB.

Kelly Stouffer, people. Kelly Stouffer.

Oh, I mean, Neil Lomax, people, Neil Lomax.

(I'm most likely butchering the spellings of those names.)

Sorry, but these two uni's totally look like they were separated at birth. Oh, wow, the Cardinals did flip the pants stripe upside down but all in all they look pretty damn similar, especially to more casual observers (i.e. the huge number of people who don't read boards like this one).

I actually agree with skyaa1 on this one. Certainly, to those of us on this board there are clear distinctions between the Cards and Falcons.

But put these side-by-side and show them to the large contingent of football fans who aren't as meticulous about uniform details as we are and you'd probably hear that they're nearly identical.

I like both designs, so I wouldn't complain. But that doesn't stop me from thinking they're too similar not to notice.

They may be different in a few small details (surprised nobody mentioned the Cards' red shoulder panels) but when these two teams play it's going to look like an intrasquad scrimmage.

As mentioned previously by me and others, most fans are more casual observers - FAR more casual - than anyone interested enough in uni's and logos to be on this board. At the end of the day, it's a matter of opinion whether they look similar or not and my intent is not to 'dis' anyone or their opinion, or to have a conflict over whatever issue is at hand. It's only to express my own opinion, which is that the Falcons and Cards look like they're shopping from the same catalog WHEN they're wearing similar combinations. That's sad for the Cards considering what they probably paid some marketing "expert" to design the new threads.

The Falcons plan to wear their black jerseys in the MNF opener against the Eagles and they won't look like the Cardinals then.

The Cardinals are supposedly wearing Cardinal Red jerseys tonight at Kansas City. No idea if it's the all-Red or Red jerseys, White pants.

I guess they must have asked K.C. to wear White...kinda strange that the Chiefs would wear White at home.

Why didn't the Cards just wear Red last week at home then??

They may have a new look, but they're still a poorly run organization. <_<

and Curt I will disagree, they may have been a poor run organization, but they have been spending money to improve their image and their team. They have become a different team than what they have been percieved in the last couple decades, they now know that in order to win you must have a good head on your shoulders. Wait a couple years they have changed,

They typically wear White at home - especially in the early games (heat). It is also tradition to make the Cowboys wear their dark uniforms against the Cardinals - this is something going back to the 1970s. The tongue-in-cheek thought is that it is bad luck for the Cowboys to wear dark uniforms. It's a semi-friendly thing the Cardinals and Cowboys have had for years and years.

It's a much less friendly thing for the Redskins & Cowboys, and back in the day, almost the entire NFC East (which included the Cards, of course) did it.

Both jerseys have red across the shoulders now, so it shouldn't really matter what they wear at home cause the players are going to get hot either way. And who seriously cares about giving the Cowboys "bad luck" by making them wear their darks?! Maybe Arizona should try putting talent players on the field before resting their hopes on some silly superstition.

You obviously haven't paid any kind of attention at all with what the Cardinals have been doing the last couple of years. Instead, you continue to take potshots at the team and the organization...

...I'm going to say it again, this isn't the place for talking trash...and that's all you've done here.

To be honest with you, I hope I'm wrong cause I would like to someday see the Cardinals succeed for once.

The worst is yet to come. I got crap for being a Bucs fan for years and when they finally do win it all all i heard was "Oh you couldnt have been a Bucs fan before they won the Super Bowl, your just a stupid band wagoner". I hate that plop, you stick with misery and failure for years and when you finally do succeed people tell you your not legit. <_<

I totally agree. The same thing happened to me with the Indians in the 90's. I had been a tribe fan my entire life yet I was called a front-runner when they finally became successful.

Happens all the time when not so successful team becomes successful. It's aggravating.

Try liking the Patriots and trying to explain that one. I've been a Pats fan since I was about 10, and now with Brady (a friend of mine) on the team, I've reached borderline insane fan status. But the bandwagon folks ruin it. Shoot, I went to Brady's first preseason game as a rookie (in Detroit at the Silverdome), went down in the tunnel to talk to him, and was wide-eyed meeting Bledsoe, Law, and the other 5-11 Patriots. Even breaking out the 1993 jersey doesn't convince people.

apparently, the Cowboys STILL believe it :D

and Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Antrel Rolle, Karlos Dansby, Bert Berry, Kurt Warner, Leonard Davis...yup, I'd say that's talent there ;)

Who cares if people think you're a bandwagoner? It's all about the team, anyway. I've been a Penguin fan since my first game in 1990 and I could only imagine how difficult this upcoming season would be if I worried about people calling me a bandwagoner instead of cheering for the great team the Pens put together this year.
