joe nieuwendyk, Andrew "Test' Martin, and NHLer JAson Ward played pee-wee hockey in oshawa (I think its the same Jason Ward)

Northern Dancer, one of North America's great racing Horses was sired just north of Oshawa also

Adding a few to the Oshawa-area list... Dale Hawerchuk, Adam Foote, John MacLean, Rob Pearson.

Not including all the players who went to high school here while playing for the Oshawa Generals.

I booed Scott Rolen (STL Cardinals player, last I checked) when he played for Jasper.

Don Mattingly is from here, still has a big house out on old Darmstadt Road.

Eric Campbell, future IF for the Braves went to school with me.

Garratt McIntyre, South Tahoe High School (DE, Fresno St.)

Mike Crawford, Whittell High School (Former LB, Dolphins, Vikings)

Just about every single pro Snowboarder/Skier is from Tahoe or has a home here

And, just about anyone who has ever been somewhat famous has a home on the lake (At least it feels that way sometimes).

-Former NHLer Craig Janney grew up in my hometown and went to my high school, leading the team to back-to-back State Championships.

-Some future and right now NHLers have played for a local Junior team here including Bill Guerin, Chris Clark, Ron Hainsey, Mike Komisarek, Scott Lachance, Dan LaCouture, Doug Janik, and Billy Newson.

Gary Bettman the NHL Commisioner went to the other high school in my school district. I think I remember hearing about a lineman from the Cleveland Browns that went to my high school a few years ago.

Former WWF/E wrestler Steve Blackman(my dad works with his brother, actually), Michigan QB Chad Henne(Reading), Eagles/former Michigan State QB Jeff Smoker(Lancaster...my brother hit a triple off him in baseball), Chiefs/Former Pitt TE Kris Wilson(Lancaster), Temple Basketball Player Dustin Salisbery(actually went to middle school with him, but he transferred for HS). Nobody actually from my high school though. There's a kid in the Royals' minor league system though, and another with the Braves, I believe.

Two Jets QB's (Jay Fiedler and Vinny Testaverde) grew up within about twenty minutes from me. So did legendary Knicks coach Red Holzman. Although born in Georgia, running back Jim Brown grew up right near me as well. Julis "Dr. J" Irving grew up fifteen minutes away. If I wanted to include Brooklyn, I could add another 100 names.
