philly97flyer Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Apparently the Phantoms ripped off the old Chicago Blackhawks unis for a game back in December....
kmw_29 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I haven't seen anything that ugly since I watched what came out of me after a long night of drinking last weekend.
-kj Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 And here I was going to say that it looks surprisingly good, given that colour palette. They'd be better without the purple shoulders. slapshot Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Actually, I think the Phantoms are black, purple & orange.Maybe the Canadiens should see these pictures to see how you can have legible numbers with stripes all the way around. The stripes are kind of ugly, but it's not that bad since everything is legible. -Helix- Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Sorry, but Purple and Orange don't exactly scream vintage. Nice Blackhawks ripoff too. When will this vintage fad end? I'm sick of teams with no business wearing vintage jerseys trying to pull it off. *cough*Minnesota*cough*

deked73 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 They probably used them in honor of the AHL's 70th anniv. this season. They should of come up with their own design, instead of ripping off someone else's.

Sodboy13 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Once again, the effect of biting sarcasm sometimes gets lost when conveyed through text...On another AHL note, anyone got pics of the "Mardi Gras" jerseys the Wolves donned tonight? Yellow with purple and green. Much like New Orleans itself, the jerseys are tacky and loud, but somehow, it works for them. As one of the broadcasters said upon seeing these bright yellow sweaters with a crowned wolf on the front, "Where's Rogie Vachon?" BadSeed84 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I noticed the NHL logo on one of the guys shorts is the old one.
KCScout76 Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 They are a sight better than the Chicago Wolves "Mardy-Gras" jerseys which are horrible - these are ok. No sure why they put out such poor looking unis -they don't even look 'classic'. Too 'darth vader' Dark - Sorry two thumbs down. I'm sorry. I must've missed the time the Wild were apart of the Original Six. Could've sworn they were one of the NEWEST TEAMS IN THE NHL.I said TEAMS with no business wearing vintage jerseys. Not states/locations. Maybe I should've added "Wild" into my cough.Heck, atleast Tampa actually has a vintage jersey they don't wear anymore. The Wild have to pretend. Not to mention the Minnesota jerseys are ugly as crap.
Reaper Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I noticed the NHL logo on one of the guys shorts is the old one. His shorts? Did you go into the dressing room and watch him change? They're called hockey pants.
Reaper Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Heck, atleast Tampa actually has a vintage jersey they don't wear anymore. The Wild have to pretend. Tampa has a vintage jersey? What are you talking about? The Tampa Bay Lightning didn't play a single game before 1992 so unless it only takes 14 years to classify something as "vintage" then you should do some fact checking.
Gordie Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 . . . unless it only takes 14 years to classify something as "vintage" then you should do some fact checking.I've got some meatballs that have been in my fridge for about 14 days - can I classify them as "vintage"?I'm sorry . . . Maybe I should've added "Wild" into my cough. Also, next time you spout garbage as if it were gospel, invoke the Hockey Gods - they lend instant credibility to otherwise insupportable arguments.
Brass Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 The logo on the first picture (the guy wearing #24) looks funny. Almost like it was photoshopped or something. On 4/10/2017 at 3:05 PM, Rollins Man said: what the hell is ccslc?
