jm1266
Does anyone know when Baskin Robbins rolled out this new logo?http://www.baskinrobbins.com/I'm not crazy about it. I prefer the one I grew up with, the old "31" inside the pink circle. Check out the website... They make it a point to ask you if you can see the hidden "BR." slapshot
It's been out for quite a while now, maybe even six months. Back-to-Back Fatal Forty Champion 2015 & 2016
Cujo
I hadn't seen it til just now. I gotta say, it's pretty keen how they incorporated a "31" into the "BR".
logodawg
Right now I kinda like it and don't at the sametime. A lot of that is probably from seeing the old one for so long. But I know I'm gonna end up liking anyway. I once had a car but I crashed it. I once had a guitar but I smashed it. I once, wait where am I going with this? andrewharrington
I would have liked to see this with a more professional looking typeface, rather than a font that looks like it goes on the title screen of a Nickelodeon cartoon. I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry [The postings on this site are my own and do not necessarily represent the position, strategy or opinions of adidas and/or its brands.]
Puck
It's been out for quite a while now, maybe even six months. Probably about the same time they started cutting stores as well.
BadSeed84
ewwww, it looks so bad, couldnt they have just used the same font as before and still have put the 31 inside the BRalso it saying baskin BR robbins, looks silly.2 thumbs down!
kansascityjayhawk4
the old one was actually really nice... as for this hunk of junk: it's awful.
VitaminD
It's been out for quite a while now, maybe even six months. That's the first I've seen of it. It hasn't gotten down my way, and we've actually had a couple new Baskin Robbins open (half BR/half Dunkin' Donuts), but with the old signage. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17. Shumway
Seeing things like this make me even more upset that I'm lactose intolerant. However, after having Cold Stone Creamery(not sure if that's a nationwide chain or just in PA) the other day, I'm hooked. Cake batter flavored ice cream is unbelievable. then again, after Qdoba, it made my stomach a tad upset. As for the logo, it's clever, but nothing really special. I like the hidden 31, but there are so many better ways to incorporate it.

pcgd
I don't hate it, but I don't love it.I think the font works though. Its very "kid" or "nickelodean" but, who is there market? Kids, people who have kids, "kids at heart," etc. Cause Ice Cream is all about fun and being a kid. So to me, it works. Its one of the few times a font like that works.I did like the old, this will take some getting used to. But I got used to BK's new look, Hardees, and all the rest. If I saw the old taco bell logo I'd think it was 50 years old today.
IronChefShark
But I got used to BK's new look, Hardees, and all the rest. the "new" Hardees logo is actually the same logo that Carl's Jr has been using since the 60's, maybe even earlier. rmackman
I would have liked to see this with a more professional looking typeface, rather than a font that looks like it goes on the title screen of a Nickelodeon cartoon. It's ice cream! You want it childlike and festive because ice cream is a treat that makes you remember your childhood. You cannot have professional ice cream! That takes all of the fun out of it!And to whomever asked about Cold Stone...they and Marble Slab havea bout run Baskin Robbins out of some parts of Florida already. Kinda sad. I miss Carvel too.Nevertheless, the best ice cream is not ice cream. It's frozen custard. The two best places for that are Kopp's in Milwaukee and Ritter's here in Florida! "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports
mjrbaseball
You cannot have professional ice cream! Ha ha! Professional ice cream! That reminds me of back when I did print advertising, and had to photograph foods. There were always substitutes for the real things, because they photograph better. I used to jokingly call them "professional food models."For example, you never photograph ice cream for an ad. It's too hard to control because it melts too quickly, and always looks runny. So in this case, "professional ice cream" is ... mashed potatoes! Add a little food dye, scoop them out, and they photograph perfectly. In a bowl of cereal, the cereal can usually perform for itself. But when milk is photographed, it always looks too watery and unappetizing. In this case, white glue (like Elmer's) is used.In TV commercials, of course, real foods are mostly used, especially when someone has to eat them. But when you see a magazine ad for Corn Flakes, if the model swallowed them, her mouth would be stuck together.

They managed to do it just fine with their old logo, which used a perfectly professional serif display font. That font is not childlike and festive, yet I respond much more favorably to it than this new garbage. Using "pseudo-food" is now illegal, believe it or not.As for the Baskin' logo - they're a client of mine (along with Dunkin and Togo's).You should have seen the logos they didn't select. This one is pretty cool, and it's meant to bring out the "kid" in everyone. One of the logos which was similar had the "B31"R in the shape of an ice cream cone - and it didn't look right.Expect to see more Baskin's opening up around the country pretty soon. Dunkin was recently sold by its former parent (Allied Domecq) to a VC group, and they've publicly said their plan is to open more baskin/dunkin combos in the future.Cold Stone is a great idea, but it costs a FORTUNE to get a franchise.
