World Baseball Classic games

Cuba has advanced to the semi-finals.  A 4-3 victory tonight over Puerto Rico, punched their ticket to the USA.  The US better hope they advance because Castro would have a field day with this is the Americans aren't in the semis.

Damn I was rooting for Puerto Rico because of all the Mets they have on their team oh well I guess they will be coming back to Port St. Lucie in tiem for the debut of SNY.

Of Course SNY is unavailable in most areas in the tri-state region.

2-0 Korea!!!!!! The first batter in the 8th struck out. Next Walked then a single up the middle. The runner at first tried to go to third and was out but the 3rd baseman dropped the ball. Then a double to score both the batter tried for a triple and was thrown out at third. Going to the bottom of the 8th.

Still don't care about this thing? :P

Go Mexico.

Go Mexico.

Uhhh, that's good for business.

Exactly how many Mexicans are providing financial support for this site?

Hey... did I say "Go Mexico"? Heh, see that was just a joke... I'd never root against my American piggybanks... I mean friends.

(singing nervously)

Oh say do you see...

Ooh say do you see...

I feel so dirty

Guess that's the difference between having a team that cares and one that doesn't.

ahhh. Oh well. Too bad the World Baseball Classic is now over. Hopefully we have it again next year, and hopefully we dont get beat by Mexico, Canada, and Korea.

Thats shameful. Im seriously ashamed to be a fan of USA baseball right now

don't forget Japan, you "lost" to them too, the umpires really tried hard, but still couldn't get the states into the semis

btw, next World Baseball Classic isn't until 2009, not next year.

Who in San Diego is going to go watch any of those final four teams?? What a waste.

I vote for this being the one and only WBC.

I also vote that there never be hockey in the olympics again because canada didn't win gold.

I dunno. Id go to that Cuba vs Dominican Republic game. Thatll be one helluva game. I hope Cuba wipes the floor with the DP, just to kick the USA straight in the face, because we deserve it. But id never go to the silver medal game that is Japan vs Korea.

Japan/Korea has produced two extremely entertaining games so far this tournament... not sure why one would skip that one, I'm looking forward to it.

IMO it doesnt matter. THere is too much talent on both the Cuban team (who im now pulling for) and the Dom Rep team for either Korea or Japan to handle. I cant wait to see Big Papi or some awesome Cuban ballplayer to knock one of those submarine pitches of that damn bakery or factory or whatever it is out in left.

Congratulations on being in the vast minority.

I went to two games in Orlando, and they were the most exciting sports atmospheres I've ever been in. Americans REALLY need to get over the whole "we're the only important country in the world and everyone else sucks" philosophy.

I just gotta say that I'm really disappointed in American National Team Sports.

Also, I had some pretty bad feelings about this, but I think that comes from being a Mariner fan for the past couple of years. It was nice to root for Griffey again (officially), though.
