New Ducks Logos?

Recommended Posts

honestly, all this talk about the ducks taking other teams colors is kinda stupid, teams all over the place have the same colors, this was brought up in an earlier post, the pistons, clippers, patriots, giants, its all about how the team uses the colors, neways, the colors are different, and the jersey is unique, u would honestly have to be dumb to confuse the ducks with any other team in the NHL, the jersey is unlike anything in the league, and the way the colors are used are unlike anythign in the NHL, so the ducks will not be confused with another team, so stop all this talk about how much they look like other teams, because they dont.

It's not just that it's the Pens' colors, it's the fact they COULD have done something unique, like using a dark green. As it was, they HAD a completely unique color scheme and look, and now don't.

Why does this remind me of the Stars' Mooterus jersey??

I can see why it would, but keep in mind that the primary reason why everyone hated the Mooterus jersey was just the logo itself. IMO, the Mooterus jersey on it's own was actually nice.

Thats a good point. It does feel similar. (Actually, Im wearing the Dallas Ex-Alternate now lol).

The Jersey gives the logo more justice and whilst not my favourite logo by far, its not the worst. The Jersey itself looks better in black though. The logo on its own isnt as ncie either.

No shoulder logos...

kev.

if u get these two jerseys confused, u need a new tv

here are examples from other professional sports with simaliar or same color, its how they use it and the design they use that seperates them from other teams.

Don't sleeve numbers seem bigger than usual? Either way, the number font is cool. I do wish they used midnight green though, like the Philadelphia Eagles use.

"The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed."

Dr. Kelso: My son is a big baseball fan. Not so much playing it, but more the designing and sewing of uniforms.

Tyler: That's neat.

Dr. Kelso: No, it's not.

maybe that's it... the size on the sleeves more than the font. And the fact that 6 looks like a mis-sewn 9.

All things considered, I don't think they're so bad. Although other teams use black and orange or black and bronze, nobody's using black, orange and bronze together, so that is unique. The overall design is relatively simple and sticks with the team's original asymmetrical striping scheme - no great complaints in that department. As far as the wordmark/logo issue, sure, I wouldn't have minded something a bit more graphical, however a number of teams do just fine with a lettering-dominated crest (Dallas and the Rangers come to mind right away as good examples).

Clearly this isn't the most imaginative, groundbreaking set of uni's to come down the pike by a longshot, however it could have been much, much worse. Where I do have an issue, however, is in the team's decision to continue using a color (black) that has been associated with their (figuratively speaking) cross-town rivals the Kings. Dark green could have been an attractive and sensical choice, but instead they decided to stick with a less-distinguishing color - one that has been a part of the region's senior club for roughly 15 years longer than it's been a relevant part of their own scheme. Perhaps it's a subtle swat at the Kings to "claim" the color black as their own and establish themselves as the region's NHL pacesetter (granted, the Kings have minimized black over the last couple of years but it's still very much identified with the Kings of the Gretzky-era and beyond).

Overall, I'd say this isn't such a bad overhaul but certainly nothing to behold as a future classic.
