CC97 Posted April 3, 2006 Share Posted April 3, 2006 Original credit to Eldwood Curse who was the first to post this on the boards, but in my defence I received this from someone else without seeing his post Story is this is a cell phone photo from a survey the Ducks sent out (sounds somewhat familiar to the Houston MLS logo story)... that DUCKS wordmark design does look a lot like the description of what was posted here in January.Seems legit to me, I've sent some emails out to my sources for confirmation and have yet to hear back.updatesSaw the posting about the possible new Ducks logos. They just don't seem like part of the same package, probably due to the dramatically different fonts used in both.The web-foot "D" is pretty creative. I like that part. MJD802 Posted April 3, 2006 Share Posted April 3, 2006 the crest type logo with the actual duck on it looks terrible. it looks like an ad for a field and stream hunting trip/hockey game combo. they need to stick with the other logo and emphasize the "D" with the foot in it. i know ducks are abundant in the south but are they around in anaheim or are they using it because of their last team name (mighty ducks)? Hmmm... that would work perfectly if we could use that and then plaster it on Brian Heyward (Ducks whinning commentator), the biggest whinner in all of America! As far as whether ducks are common around here... yes. I'm sitting in school (ironically right across the street from the Pond) and yes there are ducks in the area. You have plenty of ducks in the Rivers of America at Disneyland, 2 minutes down the street from here. And ducks are quite common around here. Then again ducks are pretty common aren't they? Discrim Posted April 3, 2006 Share Posted April 3, 2006 obviously I'll wait to pass a solid judgment until they go official with it, but I'd lean towards the first one more than the wordmark. it seems more hockey-like, and says "Ducks" without using the word Ducks, so to speak. like if you see some guy wearing a shirt with a standing rhino you can pretty much figure it's Ecko, somethin like that.
