BJ Sands
I can't believe how bad this season went for Mizzou. I was hoping that they would host a regional, instead of just scraping into the tournament. But if Scherzer and Culp get hot, they have a shot. IronChefShark
I hope USF (San Francisco, not South Florida) gets to the CWS. They were shafted last year and had an even better season this year. Go Dons! US state flag concepts
Seadragon76
BJ: I dunno. Pepperdine is a real good, and you can probably ask anyone who has played the Waves how difficult it is to win at Malibu if you aren't wearing the orange and blue.ICS: Personally, I would rather see the Dons get out of Lincoln then the CornSuckers. I do NOT want to hear or see there god-awful fans in Omaha.
Fred T. Jane
Who cares, LSU isn't in the tournament! [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. bgbry44
Go Purple Aces! (Evansville)HAHA....They have been on a tear lately. Hopefully they can at least win a game or 2. But thats unlikely...they couldnt even get out of the first round when they had Number 1 pick Andy Benes pitching for them. But I still gotta root for the hometown team! Even through the darkest days....this fire burns...always

My MSU Bulldogs started the season out by reaching #1 in the country, yet they didn't didn't even make the SEC tournament, and were basically crapping it up the last part of the season. And yet we still make it into the tournament with a 3 seed. Amazing.
VitaminD
Hell... I'm just glad that the road to Omaha goes through Chapel Hill for the first time in over 20 years. Maybe just once UNC's overinflated spot in the rankings will actually be justified, and we'll advance to a super-regional.Maine, UNC-W, and Winthrop... it's on, gents. (Looking south to Rock Hill - and squarely your way, Shane...) "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
Squeaks4
If Arizona State can keep a level head on the field and stay away from the stupid mistakes they have made this year they got a pretty good shot IMO. GO DEVILS!!!

Scherzer was in SI's baseball preview and the blurb said he was going to be the top pick in the draft. Nine starts and one shoulder injury later, Scherzer may not be a first round pick and the Tigers didn't get back to .500 until the end of the season. But, Scherzer is healthy now. That's why I have hope.

Thad
Actually, I wouldn't put it past Vandy to win their region. They were on a tear in the SEC tourney.
