I know they will get in anyway, just not as starters, but I would have picked Kovalchuk or Ovechkin over Alfredsson. And Chara? Really? I'm a Bruins fan and I didn't even pick him as a starter. Yes, I know it's a popularity contest.

I'm glad Markov will get to be in his 1st all-star game. What an honor for him to lead all D's in terms of votes. I wonder if Souray will make the cut in the West.

You Habs fans don't pay much attention to the play of other teams do you? :P

And I agree with OMMF about Chara, easily could of been someone else *cough*VOLCHENKOV*cough* ^_^

Hi, how are you?

Well Detroit still and will always suck.

Being said, I really hope that Kane makes this team. Leading the league in rookie scoring is very impressive. I also hear rumblings about Patrick Sharp, making it due his 21 goals in 40 games (he had 20 all of last season). Not to mention the 7 short handed goals. Sharpy is a 10.

He won't. There is a rule as to how top rookies play their own game. It's on the same day as the skills competition. I hope Toews injury won't keep him out of that game.

I'm sorry, but I think that is just dumb. I am all for a rookie game, but every player should be able to play in the main game if they get picked. As for Johnny, I would that he takes the break off and rests as the Hawks have so many injuries to begin with.

I find it a little sad with the game in Atlanta and Ilya Kovalchuk did not voted in. Where's the home town support?

1. When Kovalchuk led the NHL in All-Star votes a few seasons ago, not many other teams held in-arena voting campaigns at the time. Now, almost every team does this. So he's not getting any more of an advantage than other players.

2. The NHL's current schedule format absolutely sucks. There are some cities that hadn't seen Kovalchuk much, if at all, in 5 years entering this season. When you haven't seen a guy play in your arena, it's difficult to get out-of-town votes.

3. There are a lot of great players in the East.

4. Some fans, including myself, simply don't vote for the All-Stars.

The first spot of news to report, Roberto Loungo has turned down his spot on the All Star Team to spend some time with his wife, who is expecting in April. Pascal Leclaire, currently out with the flu, is the second place vote getter for Western Goalies.

Gaborik to represent the Wild.

I suppose that means I have to get another All-Star jersey then...

Based on the discounted prices for last years on ebay, I think I can wait a year for this years.
