Yeah, I kinda like 'em. Not really appropriate for every game wear, unless the checkers were team colored.

Of course, I still think they should wear orange as a primary, so I guess you could question my taste.

Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop!

Well if everything else failed....

EDIT-I will say I sort of like these as well---as a one or two-time alternate. I don't like the (presumably) cynical rationale behind the jerseys though.

This could be a uni that grows on me, but for now at least i'm more confused than anything. Is this the first time they've rolled these out? They don't look too bad, they just don't say Bobcats. It says Talledega got an NBA team.

Has this ever happened before? A team from one sport randomly honoring another sport? (If you want to call NASCAR a sport)

I get why Charlotte did it, hot bed for stock car racing and all and I'm sure there's tons of NASCAR fans who are also Bobcat fans, but this just seems weird to me...

Cardinals -- Rams -- Blues -- Tigers -- Liverpool

I actually wrote a paper on why NASCAR (or rather auto racing) isn't a sport, so I would never want that to call it one.

I don't recall one professional recreation league acknowledging another like this, but I'm kind of intrigued by it. I like one-time jerseys, like some minor league Christmas ones, or last year when the Hornets busted out those Valentine's Day things. I dunno, one-timers are rare in sports, especially at this level. I think it would be nice to see some team-specific crossovers, like the Bucks wearing Packer colors for when if they reach the Super Bowl. Other than that, it's just a plain ugly Bobcats jersey (and I believe that orange should be worn at all times on the road) with checkers to pay homage to an activity that happens to be popular in that city, and not exclusively that city either. It seems that these could be worn at any time and are relatively cheap, especially since it's the Bobcats.

Charlotte is also a major center in the US motorsports industry, with NASCAR having multiple offices in and around Charlotte. Approximately 75% of the industry's employees and drivers are based within two hours of downtown Charlotte. Charlotte is also the future home of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, expected to be completed in 2009.
