Memphis? Please.

I just don't get it.

Can the rest of the pundits please get off the collective Kool-Aid and stop naming Memphis a #1 seed this year? I mean, #1 seeds don't come from playing cupcakes like Southern Miss and Tulane not once, but twice!

I mean, look at Tennessee. They play the 2nd toughest schedule in the nation, including road games at Mississippi State, at Vanderbilt, and at Florida. They deserve a #1 seed a lot more than Memphis does. Memphis should be a #2 seed, and that's it.

If Team A has 0 losses and Team B has 2 than it's very easy for me to put Team A #1
Team A's wins include Arkansas State and Tennessee-Martin. Team B's wins include Xavier, Gonzaga, and Vanderbilt.

Advantage, Team B.

What about Cincinnati, Connecticut and Georgetown?

You so badly want to disprove Memphis, will?

Then circle Febuary 23rd on your calendar, bucko. That's when Memphis hosts Tennessee in a game that'll be the primetime game on ESPN. You want to tout the Vols, then this is your chance.

If Memphis wins this game, they'll run the table in the regular season and then they'll prove all the naysayers, like you, wrong.

That just means that it switches from Kansas, UNC, Duke, and Tennessee as our #1 seeds to Kansas, UNC, Duke, and Georgetown.

So even if Memphis is undefeated, you would still put Georgetown in front of them even though Memphis beat Georgetown? Two wins against top 10 teams should be enough to be a number 1 seed.

Consider also that we're talking a team where the next best team in their conference currently has an RPI of 81. Georgetown and/or Tennessee play tougher competition week in and week out than Memphis does.

And that means diddly poo, bub.

Until someone actually beats Memphis, there is no reason why they can't be a number 1 seed.

Hell, I bet my bottom dollar that your opinion of Memphis could be also used for, say, Drake (Who just won their 19th in a row by beating Indiana State)

yeah just seems a lil weird how you want to get Tennessee into the number 1 seed, but a team that has quality wins and is undefeated and the number 1 team in the country as the number 2 seed??? Just seems off but no matter what it's like saying sorry Patriots you may be undefeated but lets give Indianapolis the home field advantage

To compare this to the NFL, you can't discount the Patriots for playing the Dolphins & Jets 4 times this year.

Same way with Memphis. It's not their fault that they have to play who they do.

Memphis' conference schedule is going to be the reason why even if they get the #1 seed, that they wont get far in the NCAA tournament. They are to good for Conference USA, they get no competition there. Its beel that way since Louisville, Cincinatti, and Marqette left
